County Announces Dates for the Sixth Annual Community Clean Up Event


Livingston County is pleased to announce that the sixth annual Community Clean Up Event will take place from April 15-23, 2023. The County is calling on community groups, local organizations and individuals to commemorate Earth Day by hosting or volunteering for a local Clean Up event. Help us unite as a community to improve the County’s environmental health.

Livingston County Receives Federal Grant to Promote Affordable Connectivity Program


The County, which is scheduled to receive $50,000 in total over two years, will use the money to promote the availability of the ACP through radio advertisements, billboard placements, direct mail campaigns and social media content designed to spread awareness and potentially help qualifying households save money on their monthly internet bill.

The Livingston County Board of Supervisors has proclaimed April 2023 as Child Abuse Prevention Month as the County is committed to supporting families through prevention efforts related to child abuse and neglect.

Livingston County Actively Recruiting for Summer Youth Employment Program


The program is open to anyone between the ages of 14-20 that live within Livingston County and meet eligibility requirements including household income. Applicants in foster care or in households that receive cash assistance, Medicaid, HEAP, SSI and SNAP benefits are automatically eligible.

Livingston County Appoints New Republican Election Commissioner


The Livingston County Board of Supervisors has appointed Gary Nageldinger as the County’s new Republican Commissioner of Elections.

Department of Health Receives State Grant to Support Critical Nutrition Programs


The County will receive $771,900 annually for five years to assist with its award-winning WIC program while also providing financial support for its Breastfeeding Peer Counseling Program.

County Proclaimed March 24, 2023, as Women in Agriculture Day


The Board’s proclamation recognizes the important role of women in the field of agriculture, particularly in providing a safe, healthy, affordable, and abundant food supply to the County, state, nation, and the world. In the United States, more than 1,200,000 females are engaged in agricultural production, making up more than a third of the nation’s agricultural producers. Additionally, women-operated farms sold approximately $148 billion in agricultural products in 2017, accounting for 38% of the total agriculture sales in the U.S. that year.

Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation Receives $653,600 In State Grant Funding


The Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation was included among 127 award recipients to receive grant funding through the Statewide Health Care Facility Transformation Program after New York State Governor Kathy Hochul announced more than $658 million to strengthen and transform how healthcare is delivered across the state.

The contract, which runs through December 31, 2025 and is applicable to corrections officers, civilian dispatchers, clerical staff members and cooks (corrections), has several new provisions within the agreement designed to retain and attract employees from across the region.
