Grow LivCo Helping Local Businesses Become Holiday Destinations


Grow LivCo is dedicated to supporting Livingston County’s small businesses and entrepreneurs by providing resources, tools and training. Earlier this month, the County gathered with over 120 local business owners, community leaders and various local organizations at the Wadsworth Homestead for a workshop designed to help small businesses and communities learn how to become a destination during the holidays and beyond.

Livingston County Land Bank Receives Grant Through Office of Home and Community Renewal


New York State Homes and Community Renewal Commissioner RuthAnne Visnauskas recently announced that the Livingston County Land Bank was among a handful of organizations across the State to be awarded funding as part of its first-ever dedicated source of state resources to help New York’s land banks reduce blight and transform vacant properties within their respective communities.

Livingston County Sheriff’s Office Receives Federal Grant to Support Community Policing Initiatives


The United States Department of Justice recently announced that Livingston County will receive $375,000 through its Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS), which will allow the County to hire additional law enforcement professionals.

County Receives Praise From Comptroller’s Office for Fiscal Responsibility


Livingston County continued to be an example of financial responsibility after the Office of the New York State Comptroller issued its latest Fiscal Stress Monitoring System results with the County ranking among the top overall governments in New York State.

Finger Lakes Breastfeeding Partnership and Pivital Public Health Partnership have established a short, simple survey to better gauge how to help mothers. The 15-question survey can be completed in fewer than three minutes and will provide valuable insight.

Free Lunch & Learn: Medicare 2022 Updates


Livingston County Office for the Aging will co-sponsor a Medicare 2022 Update Program, along with Lifespan and HIICAP/Medicare program.


Fall Open Enrollment, which runs October 15th to December 7th every year, is the time to review what Medicare coverage you have, compare it with other options, and make sure that your current coverage will meet your needs for the coming year. It is also an opportunity to learn updates on original Medicare costs, co-pays, deductibles, and covered services.

The Livingston County Board of Supervisors extended its support to those who continue to cope with breast cancer as well as survivors and those advocating for prevention and a cure after declaring October Breast Cancer Awareness Month in the County.

Board of Supervisors Declares Livingston County a Green Light for Military Service County


This designation recognizes and honors the approximately 200,000 men and women in uniform making the transition from military service to civilian life each year, known among veterans as expiration of term of service. Service members often report high levels of stress during this transition and studies have shown veterans are at a high risk for suicide during their first year after leaving military service. Veteran Services Director David Terry said County residents can visibly show their support for transitioning service members by displaying a green lightbulb in their home or places of business from Oct. 12 to Nov 13.

Remember the Retsof Pepper? Did you know that it was first cultivated right here in Livingston County? October is National Italian-American Heritage Month and the County Historian’s Office is celebrating many contributions throughout the County including the Retsof pepper - a local heritage vegetable variety developed at Retsof in the Town of York

County Procures State Funding for New Emergency Communications Tower

The New York State 2021 and 2022 Statewide Interoperable Communications Grant (SICG) Program has recently awarded Livingston County with $1,207,837 for the construction of a new emergency communications radio tower.


The proposed 120-foot tower will complement eight other emergency communication towers within the County to provide greater communications coverage for local police, firefighters, EMS, probation officers, County highway personnel, and others. The radio tower will be located just outside the County’s Emergency Operations Center in Mount Morris and provide enhanced interoperability among County agencies, said Amanda Schultz, Director of Communications for the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.

Dialysis Center at County Nursing Home to Expand Hours


The Wyoming County Hospital Dialysis Center, located on the ground floor of the Livingston County Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, is expanding operating hours and will begin offering dialysis services six days a week starting October 17, 2022.

County Warns Veterans to be on the Lookout for Fraud


With cyber-crime and fraud on the rise, the Livingston County Clerk’s Office, in conjunction with the Office of Veteran Services, is reminding residents who served in the military to file their discharge paperwork, commonly known as a DD214, with the County Clerk’s Office as soon as possible.

Three's Company!


We have two females and one male Australian Cattle Dog up for adoption. They are currently 14 weeks old and will need a lot of training. We are looking to place them with someone who has the room for and experience with herding dogs. We will start with phone interviews before we schedule a visit with them and accept applications to adopt.
