Hello My Fellow Collier County Citizens!

What a great week we’ve had on the campaign trail throughout ALL of Collier County! I am still amazed and humbled by last week’s campaign reception at Isles of Capri. I can’t thank Kim and Don Mitchell enough for putting on such an incredible event. I’m grateful for the large crowd  of residents of Isles of Capri coming out and showing their support !  We have much to do on Isles of Capri and in ALL of District 1 to ensure we expertly address and continue to improve our quality of life, protect and renourish our environment, and manage growth with experienced leadership & expertise.

Earlier in the week, I had the privilege of being invited to attend the "Helping Heroes Help Others" luncheon benefitting Valerie’s House by dear friends Dr. Tom Hale (#1 Dentist in Naples) and his wife Amy (BMO Bank Executive) . Lt. Colonel Allen West was an amazing speaker. It was an honor to sit with WWII veterans and Collier County first responders!

Important decision making took place at the County Commission Meeting last week. The Manager of Coastal Zone Management, Gary McAlpin , gave an update on beach renourishment in Collier County, which is 75% completed! Commissioners voted for decreases in some impact fees for some new projects, including churches, certain retirement communities and offices. We also saw plans for a multi-family unit being pursued for a now empty strip mall. Residents are eager to see that move forward. I'm working full-time on the campaign trail and will not miss any of these valuable meetings!

Fantastic turnout at the Republican Club of South Collier County meeting last week. Mark Strain gave a wonderful presentation on the growth in Collier County, covering construction, roads, developments, and traffic patterns. It was extremely informative and proves, once again, we need Experienced Leadership in our Collier County Commissioner seats… that's why I'm running!

Last week I was also able to sit down with the South Florida National Parks Trust leadership team. They educate and fundraise for several environmental organizations in Florida, the Everglades, and surrounding areas. We had an extremely valuable conversation on all that is currently being done for environmental protection and restoration and what still needs to be done.  I look forward to continuing to work with them to ensure the protection of our environment!

On Saturday the Daughters of the American Revolution honored Commissioner Donna Fiala with the DAR community service award! What a privilege to attend the luncheon and honor such a dedicated Commissioner who has done so much for our county. Congratulations Commissioner Fiala!

Had an excellent time at Marco Island Florist Home and Gifts open house! Spoke with so many citizens from all over District 1 and beyond! It’s so important to me that a County Commissioner have an understanding of our entire community! Many thanks to owner Nancy Carrington for the invitation. Local businesses are the heart of our community!

Attended another terrific meeting this week with my fellow American Legion Post 404 veterans. We heard from Marco City Manager, Mike McNees . He gave an informative update on the work of his office to improve multiple areas of Marco Island. A reminder that the Vietnam Memorial “The Wall That Heals” is coming to Marco Island February 18-23, 2020. Make sure to come out and support this impressive tribute. Marco Island is the only city in Florida receiving this memorial and is the first stop on its national tour!
Another huge shipment of campaign materials just arrived and we are looking forward to the many upcoming opportunities to get our message out throughout all of Collier County ! Grateful to all our new “Investors” this week. Our campaign is off to a fast,  energetic, and enthusiastic start, but we’ve still got a long way to go! I’m committed to working full time and every day on this campaign, just as I will as Commissioner! Please consider investing in our campaign.
