The LoCastro Report
Sixth Edition
November 7, 2019
Hello My Fellow Collier County Citizens!

The past week has been filled with opportunities to meet citizens and hear your thoughts and share ideas about how we can make our community even better!

We wrapped up last week with an inspiring "Salute to Veterans" luncheon by the Men’s Republican Club of Collier County . We heard an emotional presentation by Capt. Roger Hill (US Army) about his experiences in Afghanistan. We, as Americans, have a lot to be thankful for and our veterans should be at the top of that list!
Three Service Academy Grads! Capt Roger Hill (West Point ‘00), Capt Wayne Smith (AF Academy ‘65 & Vietnam POW), Col Rick LoCastro (AF Academy ‘88)

After a moving lunch, I attended the Republican House Majority event at Talis Park. Yet another group of fun, active, and proud Republicans! It was great to get an update from our state leaders, Rep. Bob Rommel and Rep. Byron Donalds
Some of my strongest supporters! Maria Lamb, Litha S. Berger, Diane Eckland Van Parys, Kim Schnell Mitchell... THANK YOU for being campaign "investors"!

We’ve had a busy start this week! Had a chance to sit down with various government and business leaders earlier in the week. I appreciated them taking the time to talk with me about what’s working and what needs work in our community. In order to create change and improvement, we must be willing to learn and improve… and it takes deep & diverse proven experienced leadership to do that.

Later attended the Marco Island City Council meeting. Fellow American Legion Post 404 member and Commander Lee Rubenstein announced a model of the Vietnam Wall Memorial is coming to Marco Island in February of 2020. Marco Island is the only city in Florida selected to host this traveling war memorial – what an honor!

Later that evening attended the Collier County Republican Executive Committee meeting. We had a great discussion about getting out the vote and next year’s Lincoln Reagan dinner. We also heard from County Tax Collector Larry Ray with an informative presentation about his office.

Come join us on Monday, November 11th at 11:00am in Veterans’ Community Park on Marco Island!
As a Marco Island resident, Air Force Academy graduate, retired Air Force Colonel with 24 years of service, and especially as a Marco Island American Legion Post 404 member… I’m honored to have been asked to speak along with Commissioner Donna Fiala & City Manager Mike McNees to honor my fellow veterans.
