It's time to walk on the "wild side" of the vaccinium genus (the same as blueberries) and toss some huckleberries into your pancakes or muffins! Their tart-but-sweet flavor is concentrated in their skins, and they're bursting with antioxidants.
Pluots are hybrid stone fruits created by naturally crossing a plum with an apricot. For many of us, they bring the best of both worlds, combining the firm skin and juiciness of a plum with the floral complex flavor of an apricot. Jewels are an attractive and delicious variety, with bright red skin covering sweet yellow flesh.
Fig Walnut Bread
This delicious sweetbread is made with 100% whole-grain freshly-milled durum wheat flour, naturally fermented, stuffed with figs and walnuts, and swirled with cinnamon, sugar and butter. Yum!
