Market News
-----------------
School has started, Labor Day is on its way, and September has arrived! Quite possibly the perfect month for produce, September brings us fall favorites while continuing to let us enjoy summer's best. Stop by this Saturday when we open at 8am to taste both seasons and get excited about autumn's arrival.
The smell of autumn is in the air and that means one of fall's sweetest treats is back. This Saturday, Profarm Orchards will have fresh apple cider! ProFarm uses a blend of three different types of apples made from their special family recipe. Available by the quart, gallon, and half gallon.
Grapes are here and oh boy are they tasty! Grab a bunch from Kiyokawa Family Orchards this Saturday for snacking or tossing into salads.
Its time to taste some terrific taters! This weekend Gales Meadow Farm will be bringing the first of their dry-farmed Makah Ozette potatoes. Once a staple in the diet of Pacific Coast Native Americans of the Makah Nation, these fingerling potatoes are both delicious and an important part of Pacific Northwest food history.
The Hollywood Farmers Market is now accepting applications to join its Board of Directors in January 2019! Board membership is a terrific opportunity for volunteers, vendors and market lovers to become involved with the farmers market. Click here for more information.
Power of Produce kids program ends this Saturday!
 -------------------
After a fantastic first year full of fun and educational kids activities, our POP Club kids program ends this week. Stop by the booth this Saturday to get your $2 in farmers market tokens and participate in our final activity: Farmers Market Bingo! Ages 5-12
SNAP Match Fundraiser Day is
September 22nd!
 -------------------
During our September 22nd market we will be holding a silent auction to raise money for our SNAP Match program. This program offers low-income shoppers a match for shopping at the market, meaning SNAP/EBT card users can receive up to an additional $10 every week to be used at the market. These matching funds help make farm direct, fresh, healthy foods affordable to all, while supporting small farmers here in Oregon. Mark your calendars!
