PDX Urban Gardens is bringing small batch, locally-sourced lip balms in compost-able containers. Nature's Wild Harvest will have gift sets with local raw honeys and wild berry syrups. Get lavender sachets, salves, spritzers and more at Dancing Light Ranch.

And of course, there will be an abundance of fresh, local, seasonal food to grace your holiday table! Use deep leafy greens for a Make Ahead Kale Ceasar Salad. Maple Roasted Acorn Squash is a simple and elegant addition to any holiday table. And for meat-eaters, humanely raised, pastured meats can be found at Pine Mountain Ranch, Naked Acres Farm, Deck Family Farm, and Birkeland Farm.

We were deeply saddened last week to learn that Jeff Falen of Persephone Farm passed away on Friday, December 4th. He was a giant in the Oregon organic farming community, operating Persephone Farm for 35 years, and we knew him to be a warm, generous and thoughtful person who will be missed by everyone whose lives he touched.

Our condolences go to Jeff's farm and life partner Elanor O'Brien, and everyone else at the farm.
