Market Updates
We have a beautiful first day and market of June in store tomorrow with season debuts from Leikam Brewing, Stellar Pop, and Stone Barn Brandyworks and over 50 other farmers, ranchers, fishers, foragers, and food and beverage makers in attendance, all awaiting to help you find the perfect addition to your market shopping trip. Find strawberries in full force, and even some coveted Hoods for the earliest shoppers. We also have Buns on the Run back after a week away and Cranberry Kitchen, Wet Wizard Sauce Co, and 503 Distilling are joining as well.

For those of you who missed the announcement last month, Big B Farm will sadly not be returning this season. The farm has closed down, and owner Frank Battilega is retiring from farming. However, they decided they couldn't leave without one more chance to thank the HFM community. So, Frank and family will be back this Saturday for a Farewell Day! They will set up a small tent near their usual market-day location to say a proper goodbye and thank all of you for your support over the years.

We look forward to seeing you at the market!

'Champagne Bubbles' Tomato Starts
Gales Meadow Farm
For the past few years, Gales Meadow Farm has been experimenting with dry farming tomatoes. This means no irrigation after the crop is planted. With the most successful varieties, they've found that while yields are lower than irrigated tomatoes (but still generous), the flavor is more intense. "Champagne Bubbles" has been one of the most successful varieties, a small yellow cherry tomato with very sweet flavor. Right now they have starts available, along with ~40 other varieties, including others that are well-suited for growing without watering.

Dakota Black Heirloom Popcorn
Lonesome Whistle Farm
We're excited to have Lonesome Whistle Farm as a new vendor this year, selling many different heirloom grains grown at their farm in Junction City, Oregon. One favorite is the Dakota Black popcorn, which pops bright white with a eye-catching black hull, and has a delicious corn flavor. They sell it both as unpopped kernels, and a bagged kettle corn.

Wet Wizard Sauce Company
Wet Wizard's hot sauces combine heat with a complex overall flavor profile. Their most popular sauce, the Tunisian-inspired Harissa, combines roasted red peppers with three types of chiles for a well-rounded flavorful heat.
