Market Updates
Spring is here! While many are facing great hardship during this time, trees are pushing blooms and birds are chirping, announcing the change of seasons. They provide a reminder that while so many things are on pause right now, plants, animals and fungi are not. Nor are the crops which have been planted and are now ready for harvest.

In true spring fashion, we warmly welcome back several vendors from their winter pause. ProFarm Orchards will return with tender asparagus, Herr Family Farm with with beautiful bouquets of cut flowers and Fleur De Lis Bakery with exquisite baked goods. There will be everything you need to fill your tables and your bellies with nutritious food.

Back this week: The Fermentista and Wildland Kombucha.

Off this week: 503 Distilling, Central City Coffee, Flying Coyote Farm, Freeland Spirits, The Fermentista, Happy Harvest Farm and Westward Whiskey Distillery.

Off until further notice: Bliss Nut Butters, Fire Brew, Gabriel's Bakery and Sacred Summit.

Off for the season: Birkeland Farm is off until the fall again, but you can still order their products from their website.
When you come to the market this weekend, please share your gratitude with the vendors for their hard work. Many businesses are struggling right now and supporting them with your words and dollars is as important as ever.

In this time, supporting vendors also means ensuring safety at the market. Please do so by sending one person to shop in quantity, and if possible, on behalf of others. Unfortunately, right now the market cannot be the social gathering place it has been in the past. This is challenging, but if you are losing your fortitude, remember that this is both temporary and for the good of the community. Keep up the good work everyone!

You can now preorder directly from Hollywood Farmers Market vendors through our  WhatsGood app!

Preordering in advance of the farmers market will allow you to limit the amount of time and interaction at the market, while still ensuring that you get the items you need. Consider just sending one person from your community to pick up preorders for more than one household (family, friends or neighbors).

More vendors are joining the app every day! In addition, many of our vendors are offering preordering options on their websites or by email. See this page on our website for current preorder information.

Double your Double Up Food Bucks in April!
Through the end of April, we have increased the weekly Double Up Food Bucks match to $20!

This means that SNAP shoppers can double up to $20 at each participating farmers market each week. Double your double up this Saturday at Hollywood Farmers Market!
Recipe: Moroccan Roasted Spring Vegetables
  • 1 lb mix of potatoes, asparagus, and a few radishes (save the tops)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons dried mint
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chile pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine grain sea salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • a squeeze of fresh lemon juice
  • toppings: fresh mint, toasted sesame and/or pumpkin seeds, plain yogurt (seasoned with a bit of salt)

Preheat your oven to 425 F. Wash and dry the vegetables, then cut the potatoes and asparagus into 1/4-inch thick slices/pieces. Trim and quarter the radishes, setting aside the green radish tops.

Add the dried mint, chile flakes, ground cumin, cinnamon, ground ginger and salt. After that, add the olive oil and stir until combined.

Place the potatoes, asparagus, and radishes in a large bowl. Pour the spiced olive oil over the vegetables and toss gently but thoroughly - until everything is equally coated. Arrange in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes or until everything is cooked through.

Remove from the oven and serve on a platter topped with the radish greens, a squeeze of lemon and any/all of the other toppings. A fat dollop of salted yogurt really brings everything together.
