Market Updates
There are so many fresh and exciting things to see, smell and taste at market every week. Tender Romano beans, vibrant eggplant, sweet apricots and so much more will be awaiting you this weekend.

We are very excited to welcome a new vendor Frux Farm to market as well! The founders, Alenka and Michael, grow gourmet garlic, produce pickles, sauces, relishes, herbal tinctures and herbal body oils, from vegetables and herbs grown on their 2 acre farm in Columbia County. Operating on a small scale, they are able to give special attention to land stewardship and quality of product. This week they will have garlic braids, fresh Huacatay, tinctures, pickled beets, turnips, and garlic scapes.
Keep your eyes peeled for our rotating vendors. Ken and June's Hazelnuts will be in attendance, Sacred Summit is back with their bean-to-bar chocolates and kombucha, Orange and Blossom will be serving to-go vegan desserts, and 503 Distilling will have their craft canned cocktails available. While not a rotating vendor, No Mess Chef will have a new round of tomato pepper sauce to try out that is simply delicious. Send one person from your household to load up on all of your groceries for the week!

Off this week: Freeland Spirits, Northwest Cactus and Succulents, Roundhouse Foods, The Fermentista, and Westward Whiskey.

We want to thank all of our customers for your continued support of the farmers market during this time! Sending one member from your household and observation of our safety guidelines is what supports us to stay safe and stay open. Thank you for your continued engagement. We look forward to seeing you from afar at the market this weekend!
Recipe of the Week: Grilled Peach and Tomato Salad with Burrata

4-5 peaches, halves and pitted
4 large tomatoes
2 tablespoons red onion or shallot, minced
1/4 cup fresh basil leaves, coarsely torn, plus more for garnish
3-4 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon sea salt , plus more for garnish
1/8 teaspoon fresh cracked pepper, plus more for garnish
1-2 balls burrata (or mozzarella) cheese
1/2 cup balsamic vinegar

Heat a grill with one side direct heat and one side indirect heat. For a charcoal grill, this means pouring lit coals evenly over half of the grill bottom. For a gas grill, just turn off the burner on one side after preheating.

Brush cut side of halved, pitted peaches with melted butter. Grill, cut-side down, over direct heat until grill marks form (about 5 minutes). Then transfer cut side up to pan, cover, and cook over indirect heat until tender (10-20 minutes). When cool enough to handle, remove skins and cut into bite-sized wedges.

On the stove, in a small skillet, add the balsamic vinegar and bring it to a boil on medium-high heat. Once boiling, lower the heat to low and simmer until the vinegar is reduced by half, about 10-15 minutes. Let cool completely and set aside.

In a medium bowl, slice the heirloom tomatoes and cut some into wedges. Add the minced red onion, the basil, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 1/2 teaspoon sea salt and a pinch of fresh pepper. Let sit aside to let the tomatoes release their natural juices.

Add the grilled peaches to the tomatoes and toss until combined. Top with burrata.

"Pick Your Six" Mixed Berry Flats
Liepold Farms
Liepold Farms was a founding vendor at Hollywood Farmers Market 23 years ago, and they started encouraging shoppers to "pick their six" shortly after - i.e. choose six pints of different berries in a half-flat. This Saturday, they'll have strawberries, blackberries, boysenberries, raspberries and blueberries. Come early for the best choice - you'll find Liepold Farms at the corner of 44th Ave. and Hancock St.

Chasselas Doré
Laurel Ridge Winery
This white wine comes from Chasselas, a grape variety grown widely in Switzerland but not as well known in the US. Laurel Ridge's Chasselas Doré is a dry and fruity white wine, with notes of peach blossom and nectarine. It's ideal paired with a soft creamy cheese.

Pickled Garlic Scapes
Frux Farm
HFM's newest vendor, Frux Farm, grows heirloom and open-pollinated vegetables and herbs on their small farm in Columbia County. In addition to selling produce and herbal tinctures, they will have a variety of seasonal vegetable pickles - including this week's pickled garlic scapes! Scapes are the flowering stems of hardneck garlic, and when pickled, they're similar to pickled green beans but with a wonderful garlicky flavor. Frux Farm will be at the farmers market this Saturday (on 45th Ave south of Hancock St), and following that on an every-other-week rotation.
