Board of Governors' Awards of Distinction

Georgian alumni are consistently making an impact around the world and are continuous changemakers in their industries and communities. Nominations for the 2026 Board of Governors' Awards of Distinction are now open until Friday, Feb. 13, 2026 at 4:30 p.m.

Recognize a fellow grad's achievements and contributions by submitting a nomination for one of two Distinguished Alumni Awards: Changemaker and Progress and Achievement.

The Changemaker category is awarded to a graduate who illustrates ‘passion meets purpose’. The graduate will be working or volunteering to create social change and drive innovation in a rapidly changing world. This award celebrates alumni tackling society’s challenges head-on and bringing honour to the college.

The Progress and Achievement category is awarded to a graduate who has made significant contributions in their field and whose endeavours have distinguished them professionally or in the community and brought honour to the college.

Season of giving: supporting Georgian students over the holidays

Georgian will be closed from Dec. 24 to Jan. 1 (inclusive).

During this period, you can still make a year-end gift to maximize your 2025 tax benefits by using our secure online giving portal.

A gift to the Georgian FoodLocker or to scholarships, awards and bursaries provides meaningful, immediate assistance, ensuring students have access to food, emergency funding and the financial stability they need to stay focused on their studies.

Donations made on or before Dec. 31, 2025, will receive a 2025 charitable tax receipt, and your generosity will strengthen our community and help the next generation of Georgian students flourish. The link to our secure online giving platform is below.

ABSC Alumni of the Year Award

Nominations are now open for the ABSC Alumni of the Year Award. This prestigious honour will be presented on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2026, prior to VIP Night at the Canadian International AutoShow.

Nominations are due by Thursday, Jan. 1, 2026.

Graduates of ABSC/CAI who have demonstrated exceptional career success and continue to make meaningful contributions to students and the school community are eligible for consideration.

Once a deserving graduate has been identified, nominators are asked to complete the nomination form and return it to absc@georgiancollege.ca.

Note: Past nominators may resubmit their original nomination with any relevant updates.

Georgian receives funding to develop AI-powered tool recognizing military training

Georgian College has received $55,000 in new funding from the Ontario Council on Articulation and Transfer (ONCAT) to support a new applied research project that uses artificial intelligence and design innovation to better recognize the skills and experience gained during military service as postsecondary credits.
