The Los Angeles Regional Adult Eduction Consortium is hiring a Project Director (Coordinator)

The Los Angeles Regional Adult Education Consortium is conducting a search for a new Project Director (Coordinator). The Project Director (Coordinator), LARAEC manages and facilitates the development and implementation of the LARAEC Regional Comprehensive Plan. Under the direction of the Executive Director, Adult and Career Education, the Project Director will organize, manage, and direct plans to coordinate the consortium activities and strategies as identified in the consortium Regional Comprehensive Plan across the member districts and community colleges. Application materials must be e-mailed to the Division of Adult and Career Education to Angie Corona at angie.corona@lausd.net. Include the following in the e-mail subject line: “Coordinator, LARAEC; Applicant Name.” 

All In Research Small Grants Led by World Ed

World Education has partnered with the Adult Literacy and Learning Impact Network (ALL IN) to lead a community-engaged research initiative in line with key goals of the National Action Plan for Adult Literacy. The research initiative intends to support short term community-engaged research projects that can lead to improvements in adult literacy instruction and programming. Join World Education's information sessions to hear more about the request for proposals and the initiative timeline. You can choose to attend one or more sessions scheduled for July 27th, August 31st, and September 5th.

Revised Student Technology Intake Survey – Available now!

The updated Student Technology Intake Survey is now live for 2023-24. Adult Education agencies should plan to have all students complete the survey annually. A printable PDF and Google Translate are available companion tools. The survey provides essential data related to student access, use of technology, and digital learning preferences.



Current survey results from the 23–24 year will be available on the Online Application and Reporting (OAR) site for WIOA II-funded programs in the next few weeks.

Registration is filling up quite nicely! Adult Education practitioners are excited to attend the CAEP Summit 2023 in person at the Hilton Universal City. Be one of the several hundred adult education practitioners who will attend this year’s conference. If you have not done so already, register now to join other CAEP practitioners for a two and half day thought-provoking, engaging and fun learning experience. The CAEP Summit 2023 is an opportunity for adult education practitioners to share and discuss innovative and effective promising practices, strategies, and other resources anchored in the CAEP State Priorities: Equity, Leadership, Learner Transition, Marketing, Program Development, Program Evaluation, and Technology and Distance Learning.

The registration cost to attend the CAEP Summit 2023 is $450 until August 25, 2023, then will be $550. Please encourage your colleagues to register and attend. Registration includes access to the following: All meal functions, all general and breakout sessions, exhibitor corner, and networking social.

Secure your room today before the room block is sold out. The CAEP Summit 2023 room block rate is $219/per night plus taxes and fees. If you prefer booking by phone, contact the In-House Reservations Dept. at 818-623-1434 from 7am-7pm, Monday-Sunday. Please have the attendees refer to the group code SCOE when booking. 

The contracted cutoff date for the discounted room rate is September 23, 2023. Once the cut-off date has expired, any remaining unsold rooms will automatically be released back to the main hotel inventory to be made available for regular guests.

Read further for a great opportunity for your adult school’s CTE pathway. It’s called the High Road Training Partnerships (HRTP) initiative administered by the California Workforce Development Board. They would like to see more involvement by adult schools who have existing CTE programs that meet their essential elements for funding. The funds can help you continue doing what you are already doing. Applications for the quarterly (July – August 2023) cycle must be received by Wednesday, August 10^th, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. PST. For more information, please see links below.

As technology continues to enhance the education landscape, this group forum provides a platform for educators to explore, learn, and discuss AI concepts in their instructional practices.
