This week’s letter is devoted to our nation’s Independence Day. We are grateful to be citizens of the United States of America and hope you enjoy celebrating the 248^th anniversary of our great country!

Our office will be closed on July 4^th in observance of the holiday.

• The History of July 4^th is interesting. John Adams was convinced that July 2 was the correct day to commemorate the founding. The Declaration of Independence was signed on the 4^th, but the vote for independence took place on the 2^nd.

• This is an interesting list of defining events from every decade in U.S. History.

• National Parks are one of America’s great inventions. Last week, we visited Acadia National Park, the first national park east of the Mississippi. It’s a wonderful place to escape the summer heat. If you find yourself there, hike Cadillac Mountain’s South Ridge Trail.

• Orlando was named the 11^th-best place to spend the 4^th of July. Here is a rundown of events if you make the trip. We’ll avoid the crowds.
