Welcome to June! Congratulations to any high school and college graduates in your families. The transition from school into summer is something we have always enjoyed, and we hope you have some fun things planned.

• The FDA is behind the rest of the world in approving medicines that are in wide use in Europe and other countries, including cold remedies far better than what we have. This is an opportunity for bipartisan progress. Europeans also have better sunblock!

• Apple+ has a great, 2-part documentary about Steve Martin. The Three Amigos is an all-time favorite movie for us, and we enjoyed this insight into his comedic mind and process.

• Speaking of Steve Martin, he starred in this classic Saturday Night Live skit about debt.

• Conventional wisdom about credit cards is that maintaining a balance can improve your credit score. It isn’t true. Using the card and keeping a satisfactory payment history is key, so it is better to zero out the balance each month.

• We liked this quote from James Clear: “When you buy something cheap and bad, the best you’re going to feel about it is when you buy it. When you buy something expensive and good, the worst you’re going to feel about it is when you buy it."
