Many of you are anxiously awaiting tax statements for 2022. Every year, NFS requests a 30-day extension from the IRS’s initial mailing deadline of February 15 to mail tax forms because some investment issuers are unable to submit final tax information in time. By requesting this extension, NFS helps to ensure that clients will receive just one, correct form instead of multiple corrected forms that could result in them having to amend their tax returns.

We are now a couple of months into Standard Time, but many of us miss those later sunsets. More than 3x as many Americans prefer making Daylight Savings Time permanent over Standard Time. However, when Daylight Savings Time was made permanent in 1974, Americans quickly grew tired of the long, dark winter mornings and the experiment was ended after 2 years.

Since its premier in 1987, the show Unsolved Mysteries has led to half of the featured missing persons cases being solved, 100 families reunited, and 7 wrongful convictions overturned.

Abraham Lincoln signed the bill creating the Secret Service on April 14th, 1865. He was assassinated later that same day. At its inception, the Service was not responsible for presidential protection.

Fun fact: Brazil is huge- the northernmost tip of the country is closer to Canada than it is to the southernmost tip.
