We thought it would be good to make sure you are aware of updates to retirement plan contribution limits. We shared them last week and will include the same graphic at the bottom of this week’s letter.

Two of the Lowry kids are performing in Buchholz High School’s performance of Elf: The Musical. The show is a lot of fun, family-friendly, and has various shows between now and December 11. We’re a little biased, but we think they’re doing a great job. More info and tickets available here. Do you think your “side” is losing? Apparently most people do, which would seem to defy reality. After the invention of the printing press in the 15th Century, handwritten manuscripts were recycled into the bindings of new books. X-rays have been used to read the manuscript pages in these bindings. Pages from the 12th century have been found in these early book bindings. The coal deposits of Wales and Pennsylvania are a part of the same “transatlantic seam” that has been separated by millions of years of continental drift. The availability of coal fueled the immigration of many Welsh immigrants to the Pennsylvania area.

Q: What will the elections mean for the market? A: Our friend Brad McMillan has a good breakdown here, but here are some takeaways: Over time, the US economy continues to grow, regardless of the party in power. Absent a commanding majority, major changes to policy are unlikely. For better of worse, economic, fiscal, and tax policy should be relatively stable. On the horizon? IRA contributions have increased to $6,500 for individuals 49 and younger and $7,500 for those age 50 and older.
