Q: The news seems pretty poor these days. Should I be worried?

A: We have every expectation that a market decline will come, and soon. It is the normal patter in the market, in almost evert year, to see at least one decline of 10%. Most of the time, these corrections are short-lived. We have not seen a decline of that magnitude this year, so it would seem we are due. The most important thing to remember is that during these “normal” corrections, the best approach is to hold the course.

As Brad McMillan shares here, scary headlines will continue but are NOT good indicators of actual risk. The news is ultimately about drawing viewers and readers, sometimes to the detriment of good information (and our psychological well-being).
