Q: I don’t feel like I have made a lot of progress on my financial goals. Am I looking at it the wrong way?
A: Probably, at least a little. Author James Clear spoke to this when he said, “There is no need to fear any problem you are working on. If you are working on it, then you are influencing the outcome. It's the problems you don't address that should concern you."
It is possible that your approach needs to be tweaked. It is also possible that you just need to be patient and stick with the program. It can be hard to evaluate your progress on your own, which is why working with someone like us can be so helpful.
Financial planning, or any program of improvement, is about controlling what you can. If you are evaluating your progress, ask yourself if your capacity has grown in a measurable way. If it has, celebrate the improvement, even if slower than you would like.
Progress over perfection!
