MAC Arts Studios Receive Much-Needed Attention!
While MAC was closed to the public, staff took the opportunity to reorganize and renovate some of our studio spaces. Pictured above are Trayle Studio, the Ceramics Studio, and the Textiles Room.
MAC staff were hard at work giving the arts center some long overdue TLC while it was closed to the public. Many of our studios and spaces received a deep cleaning and major reorganization to allow for adequate physical distancing and to better serve our communities!
The ceramics studio was the first space on the list. The Visual Arts team repainted shelves, added a new locker space, reorganized the kiln yard, and revamped the clay storage area.
Our printmaking space, also known as Trayle Studio, received new cabinets donated by the ReBuilding Center and new task lighting. The studio's inks, papers, supplies, and even presses were also moved around to allow for accessibility and convenience for students.
Other studios not pictured above also received some much-needed attention, including the theatre's greenroom area, music practice rooms, and more. Thanks to support from MACA, we were also able to install new blinds in the visual arts classrooms (38 and 39)! Spaces were tidied and studios were cleaned, all to get ready for our October reopening to the public! Plenty of hard work took place, and staff hope the freshened spaces serve our students well.
