Kamisha's Corner
My dear baby you are sweet and tiny.
Even though you don’t know me I am your Auntie Kammie! You and I will become homies and I promise you I will never let you be lonely! Even when we are apart you will be with me for eternity!
Whenever you look at me I want you to feel free and be like ooh Auntie Kam got me! You will always be my little Majesty!!!
This poem was an assignment I decided to write for school. I wanted to share it with everyone, enjoy!

STORY of the MONTH

***Jackie Meyer ***

I’m Jackie M. I’m a trainer for EPA in Central. When I’m not training, I’m doing a self-direction program. I get to design my own day program in the community. I have a goal of getting fit, I'm a big person but I have good muscle. Over the last year I have summited two mountains, Wachusett and Watatic.  On Watatic the first time, my body did not like it. I had to try again, this time we went up the back. It’s longer but not as steep. I have also gotten my fishing license. In this program you get “flex funding” to buy things to help with your day program. Self-direction is a day program. I have gotten more confident in myself by doing self-direction. And more polite in general, especially in public.
This day, I was geo-caching. My staff took me on a sharp slope drop-off in the woods, to find a box in the woods. I’m scared of heights but did not tell my staff that day. Never needed to, my feet were always safety planted on the ground. This rock looked scary but my feet were on the ground.

Yes, this is me.
Kamisha here... Have a Great St. Patty's Day. Have fun and stay safe!

2019 Legislative Education Day Visits

“ Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter.” – Martin Luther King Jr.
2019 Every 2nd Wednesday of the month.

We continue to focus on transportation issues.

Kamisha Here...

On Wednesday February 13, 2019 a group of self-advocates from various providers, Matthew Bander and I went to The State House again to talk about the problems with transportation and how it especially affects people with disabilities.

Transportation is one of the main issues we are focusing on right now. The reason why I like going to the State House is because I like meeting with our Legislators to share my thoughts and experiences with them regarding transportation problems. Going to The State House also helps me build on my confidence.

March 13
April 10
May 8
June 12
