Ash Wednesday marks the start of Lent
The MCC community gathered last week to celebrate Ash Wednesday. As ashes were placed on our foreheads we were reminded to "turn away from sin and believe in the Gospel." These ashes show everyone that we belong to God. During Fr. Ben Berinti's homily, he brought to our attention that we live in a world bloated with words, our lives are bloated with words. He challenged us to use fewer words and put the good in each one of us into action. This Lent we should strive to move the ashes from our foreheads to our hearts so a change in our lives can take place.

International students spend a night out on "Broadway"
Recently, a group of international students, their host families and Ms. Valencia enjoyed a night out, celebrating mass together, going out to dinner then enjoying the Broadway play, Mamma Mia, that was being performed at the Henegar Center in Downtown Melbourne. Most of the students had not experienced a Broadway musical previously but they all thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The group is planning to go to another play in the very near future.
International students represent MCC well
MCC international students recently volunteered at the Florida Tech International Festival. This event attracts people from many countries throughout Central Florida and our international students help out every year to make this event successful. Our students stood out to a couple of local people who reached out to Ms. Valencia, the Director of the International Program, to share their interaction with our students.  Read more
Crosses made with love
Every Green & Gold Gala guest will receive one of these beautiful ceramic crosses made with unique qualities from a variety of hands. Mrs. Rozengota and her Art students discussed the wonderful opportunity they were given to create crosses that would go home with our friends of MCC and the significance of the cross to our faith. They made a connection with how the Gala impacts a student's experience at MCC with the support and funds received, so too will guests be touched by receiving a cross made for them by our students. The students pressed their fingerprints into each one as a symbolic gesture. Mrs. Rozengota was in awe over the care and attention the students dedicated while making these crosses in knowing that each would be given away.
Boys & Girls Basketball Announcement
Rob and Candee Terry informed their teams and parents that they have decided to step down as the coaches of the Boys and Girls Basketball programs. They have been at the helm of the basketball program for more than 20 years. We greatly appreciate their years of service and their commitment to MCC. They have impacted the lives of countless student-athletes.

We will keep everyone up to date on the search for new coaches as we continue our rich tradition of basketball excellence, much of it nurtured by Rob and Candee.
