"Class of 2021, as we approach graduation we want to take a moment to congratulate and applaud all that you have accomplished over the last four years. Your hard work and dedication will serve you well as you begin the next journey in your lives. It is our prayer that you continue to walk with God as you pursue your future goals. Like St. Francis, take time every day to enjoy life, pray, love, work, create, walk, and sing. It has been our pleasure to watch you grow into the young men and young ladies you have become.
May God Bless you with a happy, healthy, and rewarding future."
-Mr. Ernie Herrington, Principal

Year-end Mass
Last week we celebrated the final Mass of this school year. Seniors and juniors gathered in the gym while freshman and sophomores joined us virtually. During his homily, Fr. Vince reminded us of our charge to be disciples of Christ through our words and actions. The Mass ended with a special blessing for our seniors as they prepare to begin a new chapter in their lives. The community also prayed for the junior class as the future leaders of MCC.

In the science lab
Mrs. Zinone's Honors Chemistry students recently did a lab investigating the specific heat of different metals to determine which one would be best to use for cookware. The story behind the lab was that the students worked for Today's Housewares, a company planning on introducing a new line of cookware.

AP Studio Art portfolio prep
Just like other AP classes, the Art and Design students prepare for the College Board exam by engaging in a practice evaluation scenario. AP Studio Art students participate in a mock reading of peer portfolios using the AP grading criteria followed by a class discussion. The feedback is used to strengthen the portfolio work before exam submission.

Te gusta o no te gusta?
Spanish 1 classes enjoyed salsa testing while applying the use of me gusta. Students sampled individual portions of fresh refrigerated, jarred salsa and green salsa. The fresh salsa was the undeniable favorite while many students did not fancy the green salsa. They practiced using me gusta, me gustan, no me gusta, me gusta más in addition to le gusta and nos gusta. Que delicioso!
