Happy Pride Month from MCPK!
You are invited to join Miss Laura, Related Arts Garden/Environmental Science Teaching Artist, for outdoor garden work at the MCPK on Saturday, June 5th, 10:00 - 11:30am.

What:  Our outdoor space needs some TLC! We will weed, prune, and do some work to get our gardens in order including our Herb Garden, Edible Garden, Butterfly Garden, and Four Season Garden. This will be our first chance to welcome families to work together outside since Family Garden Day in April of 2019!

Who: Families and children are invited. No garden experience necessary! If you plan to bring your child(ren), please arrange to have one adult supervising - friend, partner, spouse, caregiver - so that someone is free to work on the garden. Children will be welcome and encouraged to work on the garden with supervision.

COVID Safety: The building will NOT be open for bathrooms.  Masks will be required for adults and children, while on school property. We will observe social distancing.

Bring:  Your own labeled water bottle and snacks; pruners, shears, rakes, also labeled with your name if you have them (not necessary to attend!). Garden gloves if you like to wear them. Dress for the weather and to get dirty - sneakers or boots! Sunscreen and a hat. We are very much in need of weed whacking - please bring if you have one! In addition, if you would like to donate and bring annuals for us to plant - that would be lovely. Petunias, geraniums, zinnias, impatiens...any would be welcome.

Where:  Enter through the driveway gate on Education Drive between the MCPK and the Board of Ed. 49 Orange Road, Montclair.

What else? We will have perennials to share as we divide them - perennial geranium, lamb's ear, golden rod, phlox. Plenty of cilantro!

RSVP REQUESTED to Miss Laura
to let us know how many people will be coming.

Be in touch as well, with any questions.

I am grateful beyond words for the opportunity
to welcome you back into our space.

Your friend in dirt,
Miss Laura
2020-2021 Moving Up Ceremonies

We will be having our Moving Up Ceremonies the second and third week of June (11th- 16th) on the MCPK Playground. In order to maintain social distancing, we are limiting attendees to two adults per child. If you have a unique family situation that requires additional adults, please email info@montclairprek.org with your request. Siblings are permitted to attend, but they must stay in the designated area, as other classes will be out on the playground during the ceremonies.

Parents will enter the playground through the gate on the circular driveway off of Orange Rd. A staff member will do health screenings upon check-in, so please arrive 5-10 minutes before your classroom's start time. We ask that all guests, both adults and children over 2 years old, wear masks while on the playground and stay 3 feet from other families and students. There will be a seating area for Group A families and for Group B families as well as separate areas for photographs.

Moving up celebrations for students and staff will take place in the classrooms after the ceremonies. Your teachers and communication parents will reach out to you with Classroom specific details about the ceremonies and the celebrations.
