The MOJA Arts Festival celebrates Black History Month with special outreach events and performances, as MOJA continues to highlight its 40th Anniversary and kicks off its 2025 NEA Big Read programming exploring Zora Neale Hurston’s “Their Eyes Were Watching God.”

Collage Dance Collective

Recently named a Southern Cultural Treasure by SouthArts and the Ford Foundation, Collage Dance Collective is one of the fastest growing dance companies in the U.S. The dynamic program of mixed repertory includes Rise choreographed by Kevin Thomas and set to the iconic "I've Been to the Mountaintop" speech given by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Amy Hall Garner's jubilant Bluff City Blues, set to the music of legendary Blues musicians and drawing inspiration from Collage Dance's hometown of Memphis, and Their Eyes Were Watching God, a neoclassical ballet based on the beloved book by Zora Neale Hurston, co-choreographed by Amy Hall Garner and Kevin Thomas.

The ZD Experience, in partnership with the MOJA Arts Festival, presents Musical and Spoken Word Interpretations of “Their Eyes Were Watching God” as a special event in MOJA’s continuing NEA Big Read.

Friends of MOJA present Mike Brown

Wednesday, February 12 at 7:00pm

Dock Street Theatre

General Admission: $25 (plus fees)

Festival favorite Mike Brown will present a vocal concert program blending Gospel, Jazz, and R&B, featuring a line-up that represents a Who's Who of the Lowcountry in all of those genres.
