It's all about hope.
Hope is the central message of this issue of the MORE… And don’t we need hope more than ever as we face the challenges of our church, our nation, our world, our earth?
— Joanne Gallagher, CSJ, Editor of the MORE... Magazine.

Saint Joseph's Day 2025: Joseph, an Immigrant Forced to Leave His Homeland
Based on reflections during St. Joseph Day Liturgy, 2025
The Solemnity of St. Joseph 2025 featured several vibrant celebrations! On March 16, the chapel felt lit from within with the joy of sisters, associates, and agrégées as Mary L. Murphy, CSJ, our president, welcomed all and reflected on the many attributes of Joseph: Joseph the just, Joseph the dreamer, Joseph the immigrant, Joseph the guardian, and more. Sister Mary then invited Rosemary Mulvihill, CSJ, to say a few words...

Saint Joseph: A Father for Many
| | Above, left to right: Emily Rittenour with Pat Boyle, CSJ | | |
Saint Joseph has been in my life — all my life, I think. My father died when I was small, so in some ways, he became a surrogate father for me...
To celebrate St. Joseph's Day, Emily Rittenour interviewed Pat Boyle, CSJ, about her relationship with the saint. Watch the video on Youtube by clicking the button (left) or visiting Evangelize Boston's Youtube channel, @EvangelizeBoston.

Life After Diagnosis:
How Breast Cancer Shaped a Woman & Created an Opportunity for Community
| | Even on an overcast day, the office of Barbara Pecci is filled with a levity that brings to mind cloudless skies and the gentle warmth of a late spring afternoon. Laughter comes more easily as one discusses matters of The Women's Table. Here, one can see how relationships are at the heart of the mission. It’s no surprise that Barbara brings this energy to her workspace, but what may come as a surprise is that, beneath this light and bubbly demeanor is... | | | Rebecca, one of the presenters, sharing info about healthcare rights. | | |

Mardi Gras!
Frances Wool, CSJ
| | This year, Mardi Gras was canceled in New Orleans —but not in Brockton! Once again, the Sisters of Jesus Crucified and the Vietnamese sisters outdid themselves with their hospitality, a delicious dinner, music, entertainment and of course, the wonderful decorations. A delightful evening was had by all, in what has become a tradition for us. We can't wait to see what Sister Mary has planned for next year. | | | Living the Dream: Telling the Story | | Lights, camera, action! Boston College students and Sisters gathered in the Motherhouse dining room to share their stories about hope for a film that will be featured at the Living the Dream Dinner. Join us May 12, 2025, at the Seaport Hotel for an unforgettable experience. Visit us at csjboston.org to learn more! | | Mary Black, CSJ, smiles for the camera! She was one of the several individuals interviewed on March 30th. | | |
As most of our readers are aware, the Sisters of St. Joseph began in 1650 in Le Puy-en-Velay, France, with six women dedicated to serving their community. Now, 375 years later, the Sisters of St. Joseph and their partners in mission serve worldwide on six continents. We continue to live out the CSSJ charism of profound love of God and neighbor without distinction so that all may be one. You are welcome to join members of our “charism family” for our 375th Anniversary Celebration in July 2025.
Consider participating either in person in Kansas City, MO or virtually via live stream to celebrate our history, embrace our present, and ignite our future. Early registration is open until April 25, 2025.
