Civic-Minded Sixth-Grader Tackles Inequality on the Field with Softball Project
While she was playing softball in Skaneateles, Grade 6 MPH student Luella Kiefer noticed that her field had no dugouts and "run-down fences," while the adjacent boys' baseball field had "fabulous dugouts." Not one to complain without taking action, Luella organized her team to petition to the Skaneateles Town Board for permission to build dugouts and erect an outfield fence on the softball field. Approval was granted and Luella has been featured for her efforts in local media, including a segment on CNYCENTRAL with Michael Benny during which Lakeshore Softball was awarded a $2,000 grant for the project from Upstate Shredding and Adam and Clover Weitsman as part of the CNY Tuesdays effort.

  • We'll be adding designs throughout the year, so keep checking back - and check Snapshot - we'll let you know when we've got new items
Weekly Lunch Menu
You'll find the weekly lunch menu here in Snapshot every Friday, but it also lives on the MPH website (you can find it through the direct link or on the left column of myMPH). And this week we welcome the return of Nutrislice, which lets users sort menu items by nutritional data, ingredients, and allergens.

Testing Commences for Next Week's Week Big Egg Day
With the big outdoors egg drop planned for next Wednesday, MS students were busy this week testing designs from the admin wing overhang with Ms. Reeves supervising. Operating on the theory that even failed tests are successful tests in terms of generating information, all of the egg drops were successful, even if a few yolks were spilled. Stayed tuned next week for final designs and photos from the big egg drop.
