The Cheerful Poets Department
Tuesday's Buddy Time featured a Poetry Slam in the STEAM park as part of a school-wide celebration of National Poetry Month (April). We think Taylor Swift would have approved.

Lower School Spring Concert - May 7
|
Please join us for our Lower School Spring Performing Arts Concert on Tuesday, May 7, at 8:30 a.m. in the Gym. Students in K - 5 will be performing.
Concert dress is dressy clothes of choice that dancers are free to move in. Dancers should also wear sneakers as the floor is slippery. Pants are recommended for cellists.
Please send all band and orchestra instruments to school for a concert rehearsal on Monday, May 6. Students are encouraged to leave their instruments at school overnight for easy setup and tuning on Tuesday morning.
Please review this arrival and parking information to help the morning run smoothly.
Arrival and Parking:
- There will be parking available on campus. (Employees will use the church lots across the street.)
- Please do not plan to arrive earlier than 8:20 a.m. as we want to ensure that we have time to facilitate arrivals for busses and students in the Middle and Upper Schools.
- If you are planning to drive to campus with your child, please enter through the Phoenix entrance.
- Guests are asked to go straight to the MPH gymnasium.
- The concert will end at approximately 9:15 a.m. Families will be asked to exit through the gymnasium side doors.
- If you or a family member needs assistance with closer parking to the MPH gymnasium, please reach out.
Thank you so much for supporting our young performers so well – we cannot wait for them to present what they have been working on!

With June quickly approaching, we are in the homestretch of this year’s MPH Annual Fund campaign, and we are excited to officially kick-off the Matt/Lott Family Giving Challenge! In a show of support for MPH, faculty member and current parents Dr. Sarah Matt and Dr. Gus Lott have recently committed $50,000 dollars to the Annual Fund, with $25,000 of their donation earmarked to match leadership ‘Red and White Society’ gifts of $1,970+ though June 30, 2024. If you would like to help us secure these challenge funds (and surpass our Annual Fund goal!), make a gift today on our giving page. Click here to read our “Meet MPH’ feature on the Matt/Lott family and their connection to MPH.
We are so grateful to everyone who has participated in our Annual Fund this year and for the generosity of our community. As of this week we are at 72% participation from current families towards our year-end goal of a 91% (with some classes at almost 90%!) and $456,911 has been raised towards our MPH Annual Fund goal of $479,000.
A strong Annual Fund is a hallmark of a thriving independent school. Simply put, MPH is possible because of the philanthropic participation of all its members – trustees, alumni, past parents, grandparents, faculty/staff, and current parents and students. While tuition is the main revenue source for the school, it only covers a portion of the school’s yearly operating costs. Through the Annual Fund, you can make an unrestricted gift, to be used where it is needed most, or restrict your gift to a program that is important to you, such as tuition assistance, faculty compensation, arts, or athletics. Join us with a gift today!
