Learning from and Honoring Our Veterans
With a history dating back to 1869, when the Manlius School was recognized as one of the top military academies in the country, we have a distinct and personal connection at Manlius Pebble Hill School to the sacrifices made by our nation’s veterans. This week our Lower School students were given the wonderful opportunity to meet with members of Clear Path for Veterans, who brought service dogs to campus – dogs that provide support for veterans through a variety of Clear Path programming. Students also had the opportunity in a number of classes to Zoom with a veteran to learn more about their service - and about each person's role in the military.

Outreach Club collecting cans for Thanksgiving Food Drive
The Community Outreach Club is delighted to announce our first can drive of the 2021-2022 school year! This year we are holding a Thanksgiving Food Drive during which we will be collecting non-perishable Thanksgiving food items, such as canned green beans, cranberries, and powdered mashed potatoes. These canned and boxed goods will be donated directly to local homeless shelters on Thanksgiving. We will be collecting non-perishable items from November 1 through November 19. Collection boxes are located in the Phoenix and McNeil Lobbies. We encourage you all to donate at least one can and to spread the word!
MPH Photos of the Week
Pre=K students did some fun learning activities with leaves this week, as they first collected them outside and later brought them in do leaf-rubbing drawings, examine their veins, and more.
First Week of Two-for-Tuesdays is a Success
A huge thank you to our MPH community members for their participation in our Two-for-Tuesday campaign launch day earlier this week. With your incredible support, we raised more than $22,597 for student scholarships and campus initiatives through the MPH Fund. And we still have three Tuesdays in November to go!

Stay tuned for more details hitting inboxes next week, when we will unlock a new challenge from another incredible MPH supporter that will DOUBLE every gift made throughout the course of the day. Feel free to like and share our posts with friends and family encouraging them to give back to our MPH community and support student access and scholarships through The MPH Fund.

THANK YOU!

Taking a Look at Knox Farmhouse Project Progress
Representatives from CBD Companies in Syracuse gave tours of the ongoing progress on the Knox Farmhouse during Friday's In-Service Day at MPH. From a new concrete floor in the basement to re-supported roof beams, to the spacious welcome foyer, a lot has already changed in the Farmhouse.
Exterior weather protection went up this week, with windows expected to be installed shortly.

The project is expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2022 and will be home to the School's Admissions and Engagement and Philanthropy teams.

Investigating the Surprising Resilience of Balloons
According to Science Department Chair Sue Foster, "When you urge sixth-grade scientists to investigate force by designing their own experiments using a bed of nails, very interesting and fun experiments follow."
