New Staff Profile | Karyn Meyer | Permanent Coverage Teacher

|
I am a southern raised, art-centric book lover with a passion for learning of any kind. I have lived and worked all over the country in a range of the arts for 20+ years, including time at the National Gallery of Art in conservation and work in the labs of Golden Artist Colors.
My favorite work has always been about helping people realize they can make art and find those little sparks that lead people to bigger ideas and inspirations. I live near Skaneateles with my son, husband, and black lab. When I'm not reading, painting, or cooking, I can be found writing or scrounging for good coffee shops and bookstores.

Student Vision Screening by
Manlius Lions a Helpful Success
The Manlius Lions Club visited campus November 3 and conducted preliminary vision screenings for 76 students, 11 of whom were referred for further examination at an eye doctor. Students from all levels of the school were invited to participate in the screenings, which offer technology that can diagnose many vision problems an eye chart would miss, particularly in our youngest students. For more information, visit www.lionskidsightusa.org.
The procedure is non-invasive and painless, with no medication or preparation required. Nurse Christine also said that referral letters were sent home with students Thursday, November 4. Anyone not receiving a letter was not referred.
