Getting Out
Someone yelled, "Go!" and the kids took it from there Friday morning, scattering at various speeds and degrees of physical enthusiasm to the playground, a smattering of roving soccer games, wallball, frisbee, hula hoop, and the always-popular-with-teens "tightly spaced group of people talking quietly." It was the first "Go Out!" block, an opportunity on every Day 1 for all students to run around freely doing whatever it is that comes to mind. Ages and grades mixed. Frisbees flew off track, soccer balls entered competing soccer games and brought with them confusion, tennis found a home near basketball, and the tennis nets stood in for a volleyball game. It was chaos, no question, but a healthy, crisp, joyous kind. It beat sitting inside anyway.
Wanted: Returning Families to Join Our Team of Parent Ambassadors
Admissions seeks to add to its much-appreciated team

These enthusiastic MPH parents support our Admissions efforts by serving as a resource for prospective and newly enrolled families with shared experiences, information, and guidance as the new and exploring families navigate their first year of enrollment at—or their initial exploration of—MPH. Opportunities to put your experience to good work could include speaking with prospective families either directly (when requested by Admissions) or via the Chat with Our Community page on our website; volunteering at campus events—including Admissions events; and volunteering at the “Welcome” table at (future) Back-to-School Picnics. Any parent is welcome to participate in the Parent Ambassador Program, and currently we are looking to add to our Lower School ambassador numbers. To volunteer as a Parent Ambassador, simply email admissions@mphschool.org and let us know you’re interested! Thank you!

MPH's New Soccer Coach Featured on Syracuse.com

Stepping into the position held by MPH legend Don Ridall wasn't going to be easy for anyone, but if you're doing to do it, you do it the way Tim Goldman '11 has done it. Play for Don Ridall? Check. Play in college for Ithaca College and New York University? Check. Play professionally for the Utica Football Club indoor team? Check. Coach with the Syracuse Development Academy and Cazenovia College? Check. And, most importantly, come to MPH with the energy and understanding of the School's soccer legacy required to pick up right where Don left off.

With the team off to a quick 3-1 start, writer Kenny Lacy Jr. at syracuse.com profiled Goldman this week. Read the story here.

Reminder: COVID Testing Consent Form
Dear Families and Employees,

MPH is again partnering with Onondaga County to offer routine screening and surveillance testing for COVID-19.

  1. In order to participate in testing, students must have a new completed 2022-2023 Testing Consent Form. This form should be returned to the nurse or emailed to HealthandSafety@MPHschool.org.
  2. In order to participate, new families and employees must register with Quadrant lab (directions are below).

Returning families and employees should have received a confirmation email from Onondaga County yesterday. Register with Quadrant if you did not receive the confirmation email.

Please reach out to HealthandSafety@MPHschool.org with any questions or concerns.

Thank you for your partnership in safeguarding the health and well-being of the entire MPH community. We are all in this together until we are all out of this together.

Sincerely,
The Health and Safety Team
