Special Update on Judicial Subcircuits!
From the Desk of Chairman Ray Wesley
Fellow Patriots, we are living during historic times in Madison County.

News that a temporary restraining order has been placed on Democratic lawmakers' plans to rob thousands of voters of their right to elect judges arrived Tuesday. The announcement came less than a week after the County Board passed a resolution condemning the move by a vote of 21-2.

We are energized by the bipartisan outcry in opposition of this attempted power grab. We are excited about Illinois Seventh Circuit Judge Ryan Cadagin's decision. But our important work as a County Party has only begun.

Under the new law, Judges Amy Sholar and Chris Threlkeld would be required to move from their homes prior to the circulation of their petitions, or they would be ineligible to run for their seats. This law is purely political, pushed through under false pretenses by House and Senate Democrats. This initiative was led by Jay Hoffman, Katie Stuart and Rachelle Crowe - three people we need to work hard to replace in the November 8th General Election.

You can review a copy of the temporary restraining order filed January 21st by Madison County State's Attorney Tom Haine on behalf of the registered voters in Madison County and Chrissy Wiley, a potentially disenfranchised voter residing in the third Subcircuit. The Attorney General has filed an appeal to the TRO and State's Attorney Haine’s office is working diligently to respond to the appeal.

For the latest news on this important issue, see this January 26th article in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. I would like to acknowledge the work of the State's Attorney for taking on this important issue. The next step in this challenge is a hearing set for February 15 in Sangamon County.

Best Regards,

Ray Wesley
