Library Achievement of Excellence
We are proud to announce that the Little Elm Public Library was once again selected as a 2019 Achievement of Excellence in Libraries Award winner!
Of the 571 public libraries in Texas, we were only one of 53 to receive the award. This means we are among the 10 percent of Texas Libraries to have achieved this distinction.

Library Programming
MidZone Book Club: February 4, 5:30-6:30 p.m. Students in grades 4-8 are invited to join us in the Little Elm Library Teen Room to discuss the book "Gregor the Overlander" by Suzanne Collins. Snacks will be served, and we will discuss what makes someone a true warrior. If you haven't read the book yet, come find out if it's the next one to put on your to-read list!
Harry Potter Book Night. February 6, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Students and adults of all ages are invited to Little Elm Library for the Triwizard Tournament. Put your name in the Goblet of Fire to win fabulous prizes! Try your luck at beating a dragon! Solve a puzzle to receive something to help you rescue Ron from the Grindylows! Navigate our Maze to win the Triwizard Tournament!
Teen Book Club. February 8, noon-1 p.m. Students in grades 8-12 are invited to join us in the Little Elm Public Library Teen Room to discuss the book "Turning 15 On the Road to Freedom" by Lynda Blackmon Lowery. If you haven't read the book, come anyway for a discussion on civil rights, peaceful protest, and how YOU can make a difference in the world.

Recreation Programming and Adult Athletics
Kickball League:
Grab a friend and take yourself back to the playground with our fun-filled kickball league. Register as an individual for $25 and request to be with your friends who have signed up as well, and we will keep you all together. All registrations will include your team jersey. We will put teams together and pass out jerseys before the first week of games.
If you have a whole team, note that on each person's registration, so we will keep everyone together.
This league is coed, and each team must have a minimum of four girls to play each game. Entire teams must register a minimum of 12 people, and teams created from small groups or individuals will have a minimum roster of 14 people with a minimum of six girls per team. Teams will play eight regular-season games and one to two games per night, depending on the number of teams in the league. The top four teams will have a one-night playoff to determine the league champion, and winners will receive champion shirts. Registration for Session 1 kickball begins on 1/27 and ends on 2/23, with games beginning on 3/3. All individuals must register and pay through our website,

. The drop-dead week for this season is 5/19, and the drop-dead tournament will take place on 5/30.
Adult 4v4 Basketball League:
Grab your friends and hoop it up in our Monday night 4v4 Adult Basketball league. This league is a men’s 4v4 small court/full court that is open to both teams and individuals. Teams call their own fouls, and the Town will provide staff to help oversee any issues. All participants must register, and small groups, friends, or teams need to make a note during registration, and we will keep you together. Registration is $25 per person, and include a shirt/jersey for each participant. All leagues are played at Little Elm Recreation Center gym. Leagues are guaranteed 12 games per season, two games per night (games are to 15 by 1s and 2s or 20 minutes), plus one week of playoffs. Registration for Session 1 Basketball begins on 1/27 and closes on 2/23. The first games will be played on 3/2. All individuals must register and pay through our website,

Twist3d Cuisine Kid’s Cooking Class:
Enjoy a great day of cooking with Chef Johnson on Saturday, February 22, from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Little Elm Recreation Center. This class will fill up quickly and is only open to the first 24 kids to register. For $10, your child will learn how to cook a fun dish, while also learning the basics of being in the kitchen. This class is for kids ages 7-14, and all children must register online before participating. The theme for this class is “Meals that Make America) To register your child, please visit

Beard Park Turf Replacement
Yay! Beard Park is getting new turf! Pardon the mess while the project is underway. This project means that the park and its pavilion will be closed until February 10 and cannot be used or rented during this time.

Citizens Police Academy
The Little Elm Police Department is happy to announce the formation of the 8th Citizens Police Academy (CPA) class. Classes will begin Thursday, March 19, 2020, and continue for 14 weeks. Classes meet each Thursday from 6:30-9 p.m. at the Public Safety Building located at 88 West Eldorado Parkway in Little Elm. Some classes may be held on Saturdays due to scheduling with outside entities.
Students will learn about the daily operations within the Little Elm Police Department, including Patrol procedures, Traffic, Criminal Investigations, SWAT and Negotiations, DWI, and more! Students will also have the opportunity to ride along with an officer to observe actual field operations.
Applications are being accepted for individuals over 21 who live, work, or volunteer in Little Elm as well as Paloma Creek, Frisco Hills, and Frisco Ranch neighborhoods. Apply
