ALACHUA COUNTY AGRICULTURE AND EQUESTRIAN CENTER RIBBON CUTTING
Alachua County and the City of Newberry are hosting a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to celebrate the renovations of the Alachua County Agriculture and Equestrian Center (23100 W. Newberry Road, Newberry). The Ribbon Cutting is on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at 5:45 p.m. The public is invited to attend. Face masks are required when social distancing is not possible. 
Alligator Art Naming Contest Winner
Alachua County Tax Collector, John Power, congratulates Shirley Kooi, the winner of the Alligator Art Naming Contest. Her winning suggestion, “ALI-G8R” was chosen from the 111 names submitted. ALI-G8R is available for public viewing during normal business hours of the Alachua County Tax Collector’s Downtown Office (12 S.E. 1st Street, Gainesville).

County Seeks Parks and Open Spaces Photos
The Alachua County Parks and Open Space Department is looking for original photos of County parks and open spaces for print and digital pieces and social media. Digital photos should be uploaded here by Friday, March 12, 2021.
