Community Center Hosts Family Prom

The Federal Way Community Center hosted its Family Prom on Saturday. The event provided fun for the whole family that included dancing and light refreshments.

The special event, which was themed "A Night to Believe in Magic," was designed as an enchanted night for children and their favorite grown-ups to dance, laugh, and create memories that will last happily ever after. In addition to time on the dance floor, families had the chance for photo ops, games, and other activities.

Public Works Street Maintenance "Megabrine" Truck Hits the Road

The sun may be shining, but overnight winter temperatures are here! During winter weather, the Public Works Street Maintenance team works to keep streets free of snow and ice by applying brine, a salt and water solution applied to roads before sub-freezing temperatures to help prevent snow and ice from bonding to the pavement.

This Winter, you may see our crews out with "Megabrine" the brine truck! Megabrine has a higher tank capacity that allows crews to cover a greater area without having to refill as often. We caught up with Sean and Colten as they were behind the wheel of Megabrine treating streets (and parks).

These drivers must have a CDL with an additional tank endorsement in order to operate this truck. Thank you Sean, Colten, and the rest of the Public Works Streets Maintenance Crew for your expertise and training that helps keep our streets clear of ice and snow!

Mayor Ferrell Attends Young Life Fundraiser
