Hello Chamber Members,
It’s finally March and I sit here on the first day of the month enjoying the sunshine and nearly 50 degree temps. I look forward to the first blooms and green grass that will bless us this month, but not before we will surely have to endure a few more frigid days. But spring is right around the corner, and that’s enough to warm my spirit!
There are many things to celebrate, and it feels good to finally be able to celebrate together! This month is our annual Community Awards at Abbington Distinctive Banquets. We will be returning to recognize all the achievements from local businesses, residents, and our civic heroes after such a busy 2022. The Glen Ellyn Community Awards is a chance for the community to say thank you to all the generous volunteers, those in public service, and amazing local businesses. Fifteen awards make up the program which are divided between 3 categories: Service, Civic & Business. Tickets are still available, but not for long!

The Glen Ellyn Community Awards is a chance to recognize all those who make Glen Ellyn a wonderful place to live, learn, work, dine, shop and play. Vote and join the celebration as we honor all the amazing individuals

The Kiwanis Club of Glen Ellyn is a group of individuals who work to improve the lives of children in our community. Our annual Vidalia Onion and Hanging Basket Sale helps us to fund our goal. One hundred percent of the profit from this fundraiser goes back into the community.
Our biggest service endeavor, The Weekend Snack Pack project which gives food insecure children extra food for the weekend has been helping these most vulnerable kids for the past four years. At present, we prepare approximately 560 snack packs each week for kids in the Glen Ellyn Children’s Resource Center, Glen Ellyn Districts 41 & 89, Glendale Heights Queen Bee School District, Addison District 4 and Wheaton District 200 working with the Glen Ellyn Food Pantry and other Kiwanis Clubs in our area.
Please help us continue to serve the children and community by purchasing onions or a hanging basket.
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time.

Talk to providers of resources focused specifically on the needs and concerns of those age 50+ and their families. Organizations include DuPage County Community Services, Northwestern Medicine, Central DuPage Hospital, Just Right at Home, LLC, Wintrust Community Bank, DuPage Senior Council, and Glen Ellyn Park District.
Some organizations will also conduct short presentations in the North and South Meeting Rooms.
