Spring is a Time for Change!
"Why is MRC's Director of Science and Restoration in the dumpster?" Well, we are glad you asked... No, we are not dumping her, but big changes are coming to the MRC's Sebastian Greenway Property and Mangrove Nursery! MRC's Sebastian Greenway property is 8 acres of conservation land along the south prong of the Sebastian River that was purchased with funds from the Florida's Community trust. The MRC manages the property and provides educational opportunities there through mangrove workshops.

This year, the MRC is launching a multi-year Sebastian Greenway Capital Improvement Project that includes reconstructing several buildings, improving hiking trails, creating outdoor classrooms and interpretive kiosks, constructing education center displays, and building a boardwalk through a restored wetlands. One of the first steps of this process is to haul away debris and invasive plants on the property.

We are looking for support for this important project and to start, we are seeking a construction dumpster. Dumpsters typically start at $350 for delivery alone, in addition to the $55/ton for disposal fees! If you are anyone you know has a dumpster they can donate, please reach out to Caity at 321-725-7775 or at [email protected]. If you would like to make a monetary gift towards this project, please use the button below and include "Greenway" in the donation comment box.

Thank you for helping MRC improve the beautiful Sebastian Greenway!
