Dear Friends,
Since we’ve spoken of our mutual commitment to creating the world we want to share with others, I want to share the following. Many years ago a serendipitous chance encounter with a friend on Martha’s Vineyard resulted in my learning of the existence of the The Martha's Vineyard Institute of Creative Writing (MVICW) and its annual writing programs. I applied and received a fellowship to the program. As a result of the generous and kind support for my writing that I received in a safe environment, I learned about the craft of writing from published practicing writers and I was able to begin living my commitment to writing part-time, and am now a full-time writer.
For those of you who are writers and are in need of being seen, heard and acknowledged, they have fellowships for Writers of Color, Parent-Writers, Teachers/Educators/Social Workers, and Emerging Writers. And if you are a potential donor and want to support the creative voices of writers in our community, you can contribute to the existing fellowships or create additional fellowships in your name. I know they would love to expand the number of fellowships they can offer to these groups, and they are also looking for a donor who is interested in supporting LGBTQ writers so their fellowship program can be expanded in the coming year.
I can't say enough good about this program, and I hope you'll look into their wonderful program and support them if you are able.
Warm Regards,
Anna
