Join us for Art in 25 participating Art Walk venues

     The May Art Walk, your kickoff to Artsfest weekend is packed with art, activities, performances and excitement, 6-10 p.m. in 25 Art Walk venues.

 

     Art Walk is proud to welcome its newest sponsor, Systematic Savings Bank, and its exhibit with Featured Artists Bruce Stidham and Jackie Stone.

 

     Springfield Police Museum at the Calaboose returns to the Walk in May, as does Springfield Art Museum's Art Walk Shuttle. Park at the art museum and catch a ride to Art Walk beginning at 5:30 p.m.

 

     A special, one-time-only event in May is Art Walk at the eFactory, 5-7 p.m. with Featured Artists Jeff Broekhoven, Stephanie Cramer & Alicia Farris.

 

     Don't miss the fantastic student and senior shows at Brick City Gallery, Drury Pool Art Center Gallery, MSU Student Exhibition Center, OTC Fine Art Gallery at The Gillioz and The U @ Springfield

 

     Also, enjoy international culture at Park Central Library with Japanese Children's Day events, dances, kimonos, samurai swords and Sumi-e Paintings by Allen Lee, and experience the culture of Colombia through food and dance at MSU Center of International Programs.

 Springfield Art Museum 1111 E. Brookside Drive, a proud Art Walk sponsor, invites you to enjoy its current exhibits About Face: Portraits; Glazed Over; Springfield Neighbors; and Into the West plus a FREE ride to and from Art Walk on the SAM shuttle 6-9 p.m. Park at the museum, catch a ride to Art Walk, and enjoy the best that creative Springfield has to offer!

 

Systematic Savings Bank, 318 South Avenue, makes its official debut as an Art Walk sponsor with a show of original art by Featured Artists Bruce Stidham and Jackie Stone.

Springfield Hot Glass Studio, a working hot glass studio/gallery with facilities for furnace, torch and kiln work,   offers live demonstrations on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and First Fridays! 




Springfield Police Museum at The Calaboose, 409 W. McDaniel, is open to the public during First Friday Art Walk! The Calaboose, Springfield's original jail, was built in 1891 and used until the 1940s. The historic display covers a wide variety of fascinating crimes, lawmen and relics of law enforcement past. 

Springfield Pottery
Springfield Pottery, a fine craft studio,  presents  fine craft by over 45 local, regional and national artists. Open for First Friday and Second Saturday.


Transformation Gallery & Tattoo is a venue for Original Fine Artwork by Gabe Tenneson and Austin Evans. Open for First Friday and Second Saturday.

OTC Fine Art Gallery at The Gillioz presents its 2015 Spring Student Showcase with a great line-up of musical acts from 5 to 9 pm as well as 200 pieces of fabulous student artwork for the May Art Walk. The gallery will also be open for Second Saturday May 9.

 

 Park Central Branch Library has a full evening of entertainment planned May 1. Enjoy the Japanese Children's Day Celebration 5-7 p.m. including hands on carp kites; see  Kizuna: Japan-America Friendship Group perform traditional Japanese dances and hold a kimono workshop at 6; hear an Art Talk on Samurai Swords of the 1500s with Featured Artist Allen Lee at 7; plus enjoy Lee's exhibition of Sumi-e Japanese Paintings and Prints.
