| | FWPD Officer Joshua Power Honored with Life-Saving Award | | |
While working an off-duty assignment, Officer Joshua Power heard a potentially life-threatening call dispatched nearby involving a patient at an assisted living facility in crisis.
Although he was not required or expected to respond, Officer Power immediately left his post and responded to the emergency. Upon arrival, he went directly to the patient’s room and found her in distress on the windowsill of a second story room.
Officer Power carefully approached the patient and was able to safely guide her away from the window and into a secure area. The patient was then connected with the appropriate emergency care and support services.
Officer Power’s quick actions, calm approach, and compassion were critical in safely resolving the situation and are the reason he was awarded the Life-Saving Award. We are proud to recognize Officer Power for his actions and dedication to serving our community.
