Memphis Food & Wine Coming in October

Memphis will celebrate its culinary excellence and esteem by showcasing exceptional local chef talent alongside acclaimed regional and national chefs at the Memphis Food and Wine Festival, sponsored by FedEx. Joining these chefs will be an impressive menu of fine wines. This event takes place Saturday, October 15, 2016 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the Live Garden of the Memphis Botanic Garden.

"FedEx is proud to be a part of an event that celebrates Memphis' diverse culture, while supporting the important work of the FedExFamilyHouse at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital," said Alan Graf, executive vice president, chief financial officer, FedEx. "We have been a longtime supporter of the FedExFamilyHouse and its mission to care for patients and their families, and look forward to bringing local and national chefs and wineries together for a worthwhile cause."

Festival goers will sample dazzling cuisine from 28 extraordinary chefs with accolades ranging from Michelin Starred Chefs and Master Chefs, to James Beard winners. Enhancing the lineup will be over 36 well known wineries along with certified sommeliers and enlightening wine enthusiasts. The festival will also feature live, homegrown Memphis music.

"Events like the Memphis Food & Wine Festival continue to raise the city's profile as an amazing culinary destination," said Kevin Kane, president & CEO of the Memphis Convention & Visitors Bureau. "I look forward to welcoming some of the country's most acclaimed chefs and wineries, while also showcasing the best of Memphis' culinary scene."

The Memphis Food & Wine Festival is the creation of a handful of Memphians who have three key passions in common - food, wine and the Memphis community.

"Some of us are in the restaurant business, some of us are in the wine business, and all of us are in the business of promoting Memphis and giving back to our city," said River Oaks Master Chef José Gutierrez.
José trained under the celebrated chef Paul Bocuse in France along with one of the world's most famous chefs, Jean-Georges Vongerichten.

Based out of New York City, Michelin starred chef and global restaurateur, Jean-Georges will be joining the Memphis Food & Wine Festival!

With great pride and compassion, the Memphis Food & Wine Festival has chosen to benefit the FedExFamilyHouse at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital. FedExFamilyHouse is a home away from home for out of town families of patients at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital.

"FedExFamilyHouse is so important to families traveling to Le Bonheur for our expert care," said Le Bonheur Children's Hospital President and CEO Meri Armour. "We are so happy for the support from Memphis Food & Wine Festival. The funds raised will help us provide families with a comfortable place to stay at no cost to them."

Individual tickets are offered initially at $200. This single ticket price will increase to $250 September 15. Reserved tables, including 8 tickets, will be sold for $2,000.
