The Power and Love of Jesus at Easter
As we approach the glorious celebration of Easter Sunday, our hearts are full of gratitude and awe at the power and love of Jesus Christ, our Risen Savior. This holy season reminds us that through the cross and the empty tomb, our Lord has conquered sin and death, offering eternal life to all who believe.
Easter is not simply a day on the calendar—it is the very foundation of our hope. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the triumphant declaration that God's love is stronger than the grave and that the power of His grace can redeem and restore even the most broken of lives. As the Apostle Paul declares, “If Christ be not raised, your faith is vain” (1 Corinthians 15:17, KJV), but thanks be to God, Christ is risen indeed!
This week has been a deeply meaningful journey for our church family. Our Maundy Thursday service brought us together in reverent remembrance of the Last Supper, where Jesus demonstrated the fullness of His love through humility and service. As we shared Holy Communion, we were reminded that Christ gave Himself entirely for us, calling us to love one another in the same spirit.
On Good Friday, we gathered at the foot of the cross, beholding the depth of our Savior’s suffering and the immeasurable cost of our redemption. Through Scripture, prayer, and worship, we were drawn into the solemn reality of Calvary—yet with hearts already anticipating the victory to come.
Now, with great anticipation, we look ahead to Easter Sunday at 9:30 AM in the Lee-Scott Academy Gymnasium. Let us come together as a people of the resurrection to sing, to pray, and to rejoice in the One who is "the resurrection, and the life" (John 11:25, KJV). The music will be uplifting, the message will proclaim the life-changing truth of the Gospel, and the fellowship will be a foretaste of the joy we have in heaven.
This is a time not only to worship but to invite others into the hope we have in Jesus. Reach out to friends, neighbors, coworkers—anyone in need of a reminder that God’s love is real, and His power is alive. A simple invitation may be the beginning of a life transformed by grace.
See you on Sunday—and don’t come alone! Everyone needs to hear and experience the messages of Easter: LOVE, HOPE, REDEMPTION, VICTORY, FREEDOM, ABUNDANT LIFE, FORGIVENESS, and SALVATION.
He is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!
In Christ’s love,
Pastor Tony

Easter Sunday Worship Service, April 20th @ 9:30am
Lee-Scott is the place to be to celebrate our risen Savior on Easter Sunday at 9:30am. The gymnasium will be transformed with the floral artistry by Stanley Sistrunk of the Flower Store and also filled with triumphant music by our Christ Methodist Chorale, Voices in Bronze Handbell Choir, and brass quintet, percussion, piano and organ. Pastor Tony will be sharing a dynamic Easter message entitled "Triumph Over Death" based on John 20:1-18.
On Easter you'll enjoy singing all your favorite Easter hymns including "Christ the Lord Is Risen Today," "Because He Lives," and "He Lives." What a joy it is to sing these hymns of resurrection today. The Brass and Handbells will set the tone for worship with "Jesus Christ Is Risen Today" and "Hymn to Joy." They will definitely put you in the celebratory mood for Easter worship! The choir will also be singing two exciting anthems entitled "He Is Not Here" by Nagy and "Crown Him Lord of All" by Mary McDonald. No Easter service is complete without ending it with the "Hallelujah Chorus" and the postlude, "Toccata from Symphony #5" by C. M Widor performed by Gary Klarenbeek on the organ with the brass ensemble and percussion.
We look forward to seeing you on Sunday as we proclaim "He Is Risen! He is risen indeed!"

| | As we give from the heart, we sow seeds into God's kingdom. Galatians 6:9 encourages us, "And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not give up." Our giving will bring a harvest of blessings beyond what we can imagine. | | |
