Word from the Pastor
A very special thanks to one and all for the many blessings of a very meaningful season of Lent, Holy Week, and Easter!! On Good Friday I participated in the annual Walk to the Cross in Greenwood, an ecumenical one-mile walk with seven stations, tying the story of Jesus' crucifixion to the story of Greenwood (historic and current).

The week after Easter I attended an annual antiracism conference, the White Privilege Conference being held in Tulsa this year. It's in its 25 year. I attended back in 2018 in Kansas City.

You may be interested in some of the workshops I chose to attend, with an eye toward personal interest, and for our own antiracism work here at College Hill.

Navigating Triggering Events: Critical Competencies for Facilitating Difficult Dialogues on Race, Racism, and White Supremacy

Breaking the Privilege Frame: Developing Mutual Interest in Dismantling White Supremacy

Unraveling the Transphobia, Homophobia, Racism inextricably intertwined in systems of White Privilege

Bedrock of Belonging: Forming the Foundations for Transformation in Our Communities

Leading with Humility: Embodying Intersectionality and Believing in Transformation

How Should We Talk With White Kids About Racism

Re-entry after the Conference: Caring for Self and Preparing for Action

I'm excited in the opportunity to share some of my learnings, in sermons and especially in our Adult Church School Class. Speaking of which, our Class on Sunday, April 7 will be led by Jermaine Ross-Allam, Director of the Presbyterian Mission Agency's Center for the Repair of Historic Harms. Folks from Southminster Presbyterian Church will be joining us in the Fellowship Hall at 9:30 am sharp.

Blessings, Rev. Todd

Luncheon Club
Thursday, April 18 at 11:30 am
in Fellowship Hall

In March, we had the re-grouping of the Luncheon Club. We had 27 attendees partake in the meal of salad, roast, potatoes and carrots and a delicious sheet cake for dessert (thanks Brad). Following our meal, we had very nice conversation to discuss how this group would move forward and utilize this fellowship time.

It was decided that we would continue to meet the third Thursday of every month starting at 11:30 am.

We will continue to have a monthly sign-up sheet (located on the kitchen door) so we know how many will be attending to help proportion food. Several people have volunteered to unofficially keep the group organized and everyone pitched in to help clean up after lunch, that was very appreciated. Each month we will try to set up some form of program, speaker, or we will have individuals “tell their story”.

This month's Luncheon Club will be Potluck. A sign-up sheet is again on the door of the kitchen. Gretchen has kindly offered to email a reminder to those that have signed up. Thank you to all our attendees!

If anyone in the congregation would like to attend, but needs assistance with transportation, if this is something you could help with, please (click name to) contact Bryan or Clay Finckward.

Diapers to Depends Collection

Caroline and Rusty Johnson recently picked up the donations collected, and delivered them to the Day Center for the Homeless. Their Volunteer Coordinator Co Edwards was stunned when she saw all of them, and was so grateful!

We were able to report to the Presbytery office that our church had donated
1,444 diapers!
College Hill's
Blessing Box

You have seen the beautiful Blessing Box in the west garden between the sanctuary and parking lot.

This is beautiful in two ways: the construction and design, but also the blessing it gives those in need who pass by the church. With the box, they can slate their hunger, quench their thirst, wash, combat headaches.

You have been generous supplying that box, but we are down to two weeks of supply. If you are able, we could use individual packets of non-perishable food, small drink containers, hygiene products like soap, sanitizer, women's products. Bring this to the Blessing Box closet in Fellowship Hall.
Flower Chart
Sign Up

If you would like to bring flowers to decorate the sanctuary for an upcoming worship service, please sign up on the Flower Chart on the bulletin board in Fellowship Hall.

There are many open dates available for the new year. Your dedication will also be announced in the worship bulletin.

Flowers can be purchased from any store or brought from home. Please bring them in two containers the morning of the service for which you have signed up.
We have added to our weekly bulletins
and newsletters a new
QR Code
that will take people to the Donation page of our church website. Studies show how important this method of donating has become, especially for younger generations.

The code can be used for "Pledges or General Donations" to our operating budget, or for "Special Donations" which can be designated to occasional special collections taken throughout the year.
2024
Birthday Endowment Fund

A meaningful way to celebrate this year's Birthday, is to donate an amount equal to your age to the Endowment Fund.

This donation is also a wonderful way to honor others such as children, grandchildren and friends and allows the church to have funds available for special projects.

Checks can be made payable to College Hill and marked "Birthday Fund" on the memo portion of the check.
CHPC Afghan Support Team

Our Team still needs volunteers for our other Afghan family, the Sakhizada’s-mainly on Thursday afternoons, and possibly Saturday afternoons, to keep their 1 and 3 year olds entertained while parents and older children learn reading, writing and arithmetic with other tutors. If you are willing and able to help with this, please (click name to) contact Debbie Chase, or Tally Ferguson.
The Team is selling Afghan flat bread and Bolani bread (vegetable stuffed Afghan flat bread) in the Fellowship Hall after worship, on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of the the month.

The flat bread is $5 and the Bolani is $7. The mother makes the bread fresh every Sunday. 100% of the funds (and any donations) go back to the Momand Family of eight. Please contact Jennifer Campbell at 918.277.9956 for more information.
Joy/Concern Prayer Requests

Please submit your requests for prayers of joy or concern in the bowl in the Narthex.

Prayer requests are now being shared during Sunday Worship!

Also, please reach out to Jan Swafford, Congregational Care Ministry Team Moderator, any team member, or Rev. Todd with needs and concerns.
