Sanctuary air conditioner replacement update:
A contract has been signed and the system is being built and installation will begin soon.
Bottom line: We are still not past relatively hot and humid weather, but hopefully that will change in the next few weeks. The hope is that the sanctuary will be cool enough (without air conditioning) for us to return our services of worship back to the sanctuary from the Fellowship Hall.
We are encouraging everyone to move closer to the front of the sanctuary and sit closer together. Yes, I realize that moving from the engrained "this has been pew seat for years" may be discomforting (I know it would be for me), but please let's help transfer the tighter-knit sense of connection and fellowship we've experienced in the Fellowship Hall back into the sanctuary.
I will be out the first week of October (after World Communion Sunday on October 1), and the Rev. Gordon Edwards will preach on October 8.
We are planning a special Celtic Service for Sunday, October 22. The following Sunday, October 29, will be our Stewardship Emphasis Sunday.
Blessings,
Rev. Todd
Our time of gathering for worship in the Fellowship Hall has been a blessing in so many ways over the past few months. I've personally enjoyed the "gospel stylings" of the piano music that Mike Gibson has shared with us.

SeedPower Education Center to Now Receive Equal Exchange Store Funds
|
Going forward, Equal Exchange monies shall benefit SeedPower, a non-profit located in Kenya, whose mission is to empower vulnerable, children with special needs and those that are at risk together with their families.
Educational programs currently offered serve 258 students at two campuses, in both Oyugis and Nyakach. SeedPower provides community and school campus water, benefiting hundreds of students and families. They also have outreach programs including: food relief programs to disadvantaged families, providing teenage girls with hygiene supplies, advocating for the rights of children at risk and those with special needs, as well as educational information for teenage boys concerning substance and drug abuse which may lead them to depression and crime.
SeedPower also provides teacher outreach and training, including a partnership with Little Light House here in Tulsa.
Currently, donations made to SeedPower will directly benefit the construction of a school kitchen at GF Campus Nyakach, the last 40% of monies needed for a water bottling project, and funds to pay the 14 teachers located in both schools.

Congregational Care
Ministry Team
Survey
|
We are all called to minister to one another.
(1 Peter 4:10)
The purpose of our Survey is to include more members of our community of faith in sharing love and support to our College Hill Family when needed. First and foremost, the individual’s wishes, including confidentiality and privacy, are always sought and respected. Participation based on the survey, will provide a means for all of us to serve the needs of our community by offering hospital visits, meals or snacks, transportation, sending cards, phone calls, running errands, etc.
The Survey Cards, which were recently passed out during worship, can be placed in the bowl on the resource table in the Narthex, or given to any Congregational Care Team Member or Jan Swafford, Moderator.
Additional Surveys are available on the Narthex table, and you may also click the button below to download and print the form.

Share your Education Talents
Outreach & Mission invites the congregation to share their latent education talents in one of two ways:
First, our Support Teams seek another Afghan Family tutor for one of our two Afghan families (the Sakhizadas (Mom, Dad, five children from 9 mo – 12 yrs) and Momands (Mom, Dad, six children from just under a year to 10 years old). Both families continue to settle into their new country well, thanks in large part to the support and care given by our College Hill Afghan Family Support Team.
Still, the Families’ most pressing need continues to be learning English. Roughly a dozen of our support team members have been meeting weekly with our two families, but we need a new tutor for the Momands’ second youngest girl – a precocious 5 year named Zahara. Tutoring sessions are once a week, and you will receive as many training opportunities as you need to get comfortable with Zahara. You would join with several other tutors at your weekly session, and we provide the supplies ~ you just need to give the enthusiasm and support.

Second, the Mayo School https://mayo.tulsaschools.org/ - (just four blocks south of the church) - seeks volunteers to help monitor classrooms from 8:00 - 8:45 each day to give teachers time to focus on special needs students. To learn more, (click name to) contact Crystal Zerger.

College Hill's
Blessing Box
Beautifully handcrafted and painted by David & Susan West, this Blessing Box is now a permanent fixture in the church's
west garden area.
Half of the funds that College Hill received from a $1,000 Grant from Matthew 25 Ministry PC(USA) was used for the box building materials.
On Rally Day, we had a Let’s Stock Our Closet Event and how to best utilize our Blessing Box and how your contributions can be an ongoing lifeline to those in our community that need a hand up. Please contact Susan West for more information.
