Let's acknowledge it - September was an exciting month here at College Hill.
We celebrated Rally Day & Swim Party, a Ministry Team Fair, a sermon series on the Book of James, and the Harold E. Hill Lecture Series with Brian Kaylor.
October promises to be a busy and exciting month, as well. I will be out the first week attending Eastern Oklahoma Presbytery's Pastors Fall Wilderness Retreat at White Rock Mountain in Arkansas. Pray for a restful and renewing time.
There's an All-Church Work Day on Saturday, October 5 starting at 9:00 am.
The next day, the 6th, is World Communion Sunday. Mike Gibson will lead the congregation in a Hymn Sing in my absence. The liturgists that day will include some of our retired pastors. At that service we will receive our annual PCUSA Peace & Global Witness offering, 25% of which will stay here for our own peacemaking efforts.
The Tulsa Pride Parade, which we encourage you to walk with us, will be on Sunday, the 13th starting at 2:00 pm.
Finally, Sunday, October 27 will not only be Stewardship Sunday, but a special service celebrating Reformation Sunday (a bit more high church than usual.)
Also, for your calendar, we will have a Called Congregational Meeting on Sunday, October 27 for the purpose of electing a slate of Ruling Elders for the Class of 2027, and a member of the congregation for the Nominating Committee. More information later.
Blessings, Rev. Todd

Rally Day was an
Outstanding Success!

The 3rd floor education space has been cleaned, organized and opened to Worship Connection 2.0 (3rd-6th graders). We celebrated with an open house and a ribbon cutting.
Kindergarteners and third graders were presented with new age appropriate Bibles to augment their faith development.
A great time was had by many families at the Pool party after worship. Sincere thanks to the Gammies for hosting the revelry!
Gratitude to all who have expressed willingness to be Tall Friends in Worship Connection and Worship Connection 2.0. You are a blessing! If you would be interested in helping in the nursery occasionally, please (click name to) contact our Director of Children & Family Ministry, Betsy Guyer.
Watch for details about a
Fall Family Event coming soon!
There will be no WC or WC2.0 on Sunday, October 6. Children are encouraged to
stay in Worship for the Hymn Sing.

The CHPC youth had a wonderful experience over the weekend. 40 Presbyterian youth from around the state gathered in OKC at the Urban Mission for a Day of Service.
The group helped clean up the garden, clean the Santa Shop and they sorted stocked and bagged enough groceries to feed about 1000 people over the next week. The kids spent the afternoon eating pizza, doing energizers and playing games together. It was an amazing day of fellowship and service!
Two of our youth, Kado and Anders, also started their Confirmation journey this weekend. Please keep them in your prayers.

We have added to our weekly bulletins
and newsletters a new
QR Code
that will take people to the Donation page of our church website. Studies show how important this method of donating has become, especially for younger generations.
The code can be used for "Pledges or General Donations" to our operating budget, or for "Special Donations" which can be designated to occasional special collections taken throughout the year.

Hymn Sing &
World Communion Sunday:
This Sunday, October 6
We are collecting the Peace & Global Witness (formerly called Peacemaking) Offering. College Hill retains 25% of this Offering to connect with the global witness of Christ's peace.
Mid- councils retain 25% for ministries of peace and reconciliation. The remaining 50% is used by the Presbyterian Mission Agency to advocate for peace and justice in cultures of violence, including our own, through collaborative projects of education and Christian witness.
Special giving envelopes will be provided in this Sunday’s worship bulletin.

ALL GOOD!
Caroline & Rusty Johnson's car trunk was full of goodies for the Day Center for the Homeless - not only shoes, shirts and hats for humans, but also boxes of treats, food and apparel for residents of the center’s new animal shelter!
Top it all off with 12 dozen cookies saved from the Harold Hill lecture event, perfect timing for the Sept. 28 dinner! Thanks a million!

Help for
Humans and Pets
Tulsa Day Center soon will include a 600-square foot, climate-controlled space to house pets for clients who may otherwise have not sought services. Opening date is fall of 2024.
You can support this new addition by donating dog food, treats, leashes or collars.
Items most needed for the humans include tennis shoes, underwear, shorts, pants, jackets, umbrellas, cooling towels and sunscreen.
Simply place your donations in (or near) the
Just Do It Box in the Narthex and they will be delivered to the Day Center. Thank you!

College Hill's
Blessing Box
You have seen the beautiful Blessing Box in the west garden between the sanctuary and parking lot.
This is beautiful in two ways: the construction and design, but also the blessing it gives those in need who pass by the church. With the box, they can slate their hunger, quench their thirst, wash, combat headaches.
You have been generous supplying that box, but we are down to two weeks of supply. If you are able, we could use individual packets of non-perishable food, small drink containers, hygiene products like soap, sanitizer, women's products. Bring this to the Blessing Box closet in Fellowship Hall.

Birthday Endowment Fund
A meaningful way to celebrate this year's Birthday, is to donate an amount equal to your age to the Endowment Fund.
This donation is also a wonderful way to honor others such as children, grandchildren and friends and allows the church to have funds available for special projects.
Checks can be made payable to College Hill and marked "Birthday Fund" on the memo portion of the check.
