From The Desk Of The Principal

Greetings!

As we begin our summer break, may we carry the joy of this school year with us. Stay safe, stay prayerful, and keep Jesus in your hearts wherever you go.

Msg. Connelly shared a beautiful prayer with us:

I asked the Lord to comfort me

When things weren't going my way

He said to me, "I will comfort you

And lift your cares away"

I asked the Lord to walk with me

When darkness was all that I knew

He said to me, "Never be afraid

For I will see you through"

I did not ask for riches

He gave me wealth untold

The moon, the stars, the sun, the skies

And He gave me eyes to behold

I thank the Lord for everything

And I count my blessings each day

He camе to me when I needed Him

And I only had to pray

Hе'll come to you if you ask Him to

He is only a prayer away

Have a nice summer!

Notes from the Counselor

From the Counselor’s Office: Summer Reset

Summer break is (thankfully) right around the corner! As excited as we are for vacation, soon enough you will start hearing your kids saying “Mom, Dad, I’m boooored.” Kick the summer boredom with family fun and by having activities already ready to go.

Quality family time is so important for supporting children's self-esteem, social skills and overall well-being. This article shares a long list of ideas on how to incorporate family bonding into your summer routine! https://www.notconsumed.com/simple-ways-to-build-family-unity/

For example, you could start the summer off by creating a Summer Activity Jar. All you need is an empty jar (or jars), some paper and a pen. Write or print out activities, chores, challenges or games on slips of paper then fold them up and add to the jar. Get creative! You can make as many themed jars as you’d

like such as places to go, indoor/outdoor, fitness, etc. You can come up with your own or look up ideas online. Now, when they claim there is nothing to do, you can direct them to the jar to select a surprise activity.

Easy crafts like this are one of many ways to strengthen family relationships and encourage screen-free time over the summer. Click HERE to access a few more ideas and resources such as a printable self-care packet and wellness bingo.

Wishing you all a wonderful summer. Stay happy and healthy!

Field Day

We definitely made the right decision in postponing Field Day to Monday! It was a beautiful morning for fun, games, and making memories at the park.

A special thank you to Mr. Perry, Mr. Jordaens, and all of our volunteers whose time, energy, and enthusiasm helped make the day such a success. We are grateful for your support in creating a wonderful experience for our students!

Last Day of School Mass

The grade 3 students did a beautiful job with our last day of school Mass. In his homily, Monsignor Connelly reminded us that although the school year is over, our learning in faith does not end. God is always near us and is just a prayer away.

Awards Ceremony

After Mass concluded on Wednesday, we held our annual Awards Ceremony. Many of our students received awards handed out by their teachers. Below are the categories and recipients. Click HERE for copies of the photos.

Uniforms!

As the school year comes to a close, many families find themselves with uniforms that no longer fit or are no longer needed. Returning clean, gently used uniforms for our uniform sale in August (date to be determined) is a great way to support our school community!

Please email Kristen Dionne at k.dionne@smaspringfield.org to schedule a time to drop off your uniforms. When returning uniforms, please label the bag with your child's name so you will receive credit at our uniform sale.

New Student Applications!

Do you know anyone interested in attending St. Michael's Academy next fall? We have limited spots for new students. Make sure the new student mentions your name! They can apply on our website at https://smaspringfield.org/admissions/application-is-easy/

St. Michael the Archangel,

Pray for us!

Heavenly Father,

We come to You with open hearts, asking for peace and harmony in our home. Help us to treat one another with kindness, patience, and love each day. Fill our hearts with calm and understanding, even in difficult moments.

Lord, we ask that You protect our nation. In times of uncertainty, guide our leaders and comfort those who are afraid. Keep our communities safe and surround us all with Your peace.

Be our constant source of strength and security. May we always feel Your presence with us, reminding us that we are never alone.

Amen.

We pray in a special way for all of our families and friends in need:

Susan Wuller

Fr. David Raymond

Bishop Byrne

Deacon Bill Kern

Maddox Rowland

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

We pray for our recently departed.
