As we prepare for the close of school before the Christmas vacation, I want to take a moment away from the craziness of the season to thank everyone for their hard work in maintaining our school safety and acknowledge the extra effort it has taken to offer our students both in school and remote learning. This could not have been possible without the team effort that has occurred in and out of school. I know I sound like a broken record, but it is so important that we continue to adhere to the Covid-19 safe guidelines, especially when we celebrate in the coming week. The Christmas holiday season will be our ultimate test!
Just a reminder that Monday, January 4th will be a professional development day as our teachers are in-serviced on our new classroom SmartBoards. (Yippee! An extra vacation day!) We will welcome back our preschool and kindergarten students on Tuesday, January 5th while our students in grades 1-8 will be remote during this week. Those grades will return to in person learning on Monday, January 11th. Again, we hope to mitigate possible virus transmission.
As you gather in your homes to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus, please know I send my warmest wishes to you and your family for a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and safe New Year.
May God's blessings and peace be with you.
Ms. Ann E. Dougal
