HopeWorks Breakfast & Clothing Donations - Thank you!
St. Martin's Hopeworks
On Sunday, January 10, St. Mark’s served breakfast to 116 individuals experiencing homelessness. Tremendous thanks to our generous parish, as some people had more than one serving last Sunday and there were still enough meals left over that HopeWorks provided to individuals on 1/12/2021. We were also able to give our four heavy winter coats, three boxes of sweaters and dozens of new pairs of socks to those in need. We could not do all of this without the support of all of you. Thank you.

We are still accepting food and clothing. For food needs, please contact Joan Camera via email. There is still an urgent clothing need for new underwear, undershirts and bras for the clients at HopeWorks. For specifics, please reach out to Bruce Roach via email for information.

As always, you may contribute financially by giving donations by check with “HopeWorks” on the memo field or through PayPal® (please select “HopeWorks” on the “(Optional) Use this donation for” dropdown.).

Our next breakfast is Sunday, March 14th.
Annual Meeting & Vestry/Delegates
Three vestry positions open up each January at St. Mark's, as well as one delegate position - all will be elected at our Annual Parish Meeting (Sunday, Jan. 31). Please prayerfully consider whether your time and talent could be best used in the guiding, collaborative spirit of our vestry or as our representative to the Diocese of the Rio Grande at ConventionNomination forms are available here.
All ministry Annual Report information must be submitted to Jennifer Lind via email (by Monday, January 18th).
Help Offset the PayPal® Fees for St. Mark's Donations
PayPal® donations are a safe and effective way to donate to St. Mark's, but many are probably not aware that St. Mark's is charged a fee for every donation. Now PayPal® has a way to donate with an option for the giver to offset the cost of the donation transaction fees. Just click on the "I’d like to add $___ to my donation to help offset the cost of processing" checkbox before entering your payment information. You may donate anytime here.

Discussion Group: Video Presentations by Nadia Bolz-Weber
11:00 a.m. on Sundays
Beginning this Sunday, January 17, join Deacon David from 11:00 to noon for some spiritual exploration based on short videos presented by Nadia Bolz-Weber. We will use her bold and sometimes irreverent view of Jesus’ teachings as a starting point for discussing our own thoughts on spirituality and our journeys. This week’s topic will be “everything has become new” [2 Corinthians 5:17].

Coffee Hour Catch-ups will take place from 10:30 to 11:00. Please join us in the regular Sunday morning Zoom Room for these talks:

Continuing Daily Devotions
Perhaps the Advent Season helped you establish a habit of daily devotions. How might you continue that pattern as we move into a New Year? Perhaps you might enjoy beginning or ending your day with a short bible story (read aloud by the children and youth of St. Mark's). Link to a video with a bible story each day here. Throughout the month of January, we will be recording more bible stories to share in the upcoming season of Lent. If you'd be willing to read a story for us to record and share, please contact Sylvia+ via email here.
All are welcome to give and/or pledge to St. Mark's by mail (St. Mark's has a secure mailbox and is checked regularly): 431 Richmond Place NE, Albuquerque, NM 87106.
