Cocoa & Carols
Saturday, December at 4:00 p.m. - This is an all-ages evening in which we gather around the piano in the Parish Hall & Courtyard and sing the songs of the season. It's a fantastic event and one that is perfect for inviting friends and family to come. Bring some finger food, beverage or a growler to share, but most of all, have fun with friends and family.
Luminaria Supplies Needed
We are collecting brown paper bags and votive candles for luminarias to be used on Christmas Eve. There is a box in the narthex for dropping off these items. Thank you for your generosity.
Welcoming the Stranger
Sunday, November 28 from 11:30 – 12:30: Anyone interested in learning about what is happening to immigrants arriving at the southern border of the U.S. and the ways in which our faith community is responding, come to the library at St. Mark's after coffee hour. Parishioner Mary Beth Libbey will be sharing her experience with the FaithWorks Asylum Seeker Support Group, and her knowledge of the work being done on both sides of the border by the Episcopal Diocese of the Rio Grande. Learn about volunteer opportunities and other ways you can help welcome the stranger during this time of crisis for so many people who have been forced to leave their homes due to violence, climate change and failed governments. You will also learn about the resolution passed by the diocesan convention last month and what Episcopal congregations are being asked to do regarding the border situation.

Homemade Communion Bread & Sacramental Wine
Bread Wine Eucharist
Beginning in Advent we will once again be using homemade bread for the Eucharistic Feast. A huge thank you to our new Eucharistic Bread baking team. Yes, both wafers and a gluten free option will still be available.

Soon we will be offering Sacramental wine at a communion but in a rather different manner due to safety concerns. We will ask each household to bring their own cup, chalice or small glass to receive wine at a station in the back of the nave. Yes, we’ll have cups available if you forget or are new to the parish. More details are in the attached letter. Importantly we’ll need help from a Eucharistic wine team to pull this off. So please let us know if you can help. christopher@stmarksabq.org or stmarks@stmarksabq.org.

Advent Study: All Creation Waits
All Creation Waits: The Advent Mystery of New Beginnings
By Gayle Boss
Illustrated by David G. Klein

Join one of our online book groups for Advent at St. Mark’s.

Open a window each day of Advent onto the natural world. In twenty-five portraits depicting how wild animals of the northern hemisphere ingeniously adapt when darkness and cold descend, we see and hear as if for the first time the ancient wisdom of Advent:  The dark is not an end but the way a new beginning comes.

Short, daily reflections that paint vivid, poetic images of familiar animals, paired with charming original wood-cuts, will engage both children and adults. Anyone who does not want to be caught, again, in the consumer hype of “the holiday season” but rather to be taken up into the eternal truth the natural world reveals will welcome this book.

Copies of the book are available in the church office or online at Paraclete Press or at your other favorite book sellers.
Growing as Good Stewards
Growing as Good Stewards - Reflecting on our Personal Relationships with Family & Friends

Stewardship is not just about our money and finances. Stewardship is about the faithful use of every gift with which God has entrusted us. Each month we invite friends and members of St. Mark's to engage in prayer, reflection, and conversation about what it means to grow as good stewards of one particular aspect of our whole lives. As Thanksgiving approaches, we invite you to reflect on Stewardship of Personal Relationships with Family and FriendsYou might use these questions to guide your personal reflection. Join us for further prayer, reflection, and discussion on this topic the on Tuesday, 11/30 at 12 p.m. (and the last Tuesday of each month) either in person or online.
Blanket Drive
Warm blankets and sleeping bags are in great need by those sleeping in the rough as the weather gets cold. Bring them to the St. Mark's for distribution. There is a box in the entry way (narthex) for the blankets.
