SAINT MARK'S MISSION & OUTREACH
Urgent Need: Manna Bags Supplies
We only have enough supplies to make 64 bags. Please be generous and donate.

We will assemble Manna Bags on Sunday, March 27 and we need the following items:
  • New pairs of athletic socks
  • 16.9 oz bottles of water
  • Granola/Snack bars
There is a box in the narthex for these donations.

Please note: We do NOT need more zip-locking plastic storage bags or small bottles of hand sanitizer.
Thank you.
St. Mark’s to Lift Masking Requirement Next Month
Beginning Sunday April 3, 2022, St. Mark’s will ease the mask restriction in public worship and other activities based on the new CDC county-by-county guidelines. When our county is in the Green the mask requirement will be lifted. For more information see the attached letter to the whole Parish.

Mask-Friendly St. Mark’s: While we are relaxing our masking requirement, we want to be clear that we remain a “Mask-Friendly” Parish. We encourage all who prefer to wear masks to keep doing so and to continue other safety precautions as well. Our clergy and Vestry want to support all parishioners regardless of their mask use and thinking on the subject. We anticipate that many will continue to wear masks at church for the foreseeable future, and we want them to be able to do so with confidence and without any stigma or shame.

We know that this change will come as a surprise to some and as a welcome change to others. Together our St. Mark’s family will continue to demonstrate deep respect and loving care for one another as we support one another’s health decisions. We respect the privacy of each person’s health decisions and encourage people to make wise choices for their own health needs. Together, “We are Making Something Beautiful for God in our Neighborhood.”

We have added a menu to our website for COVID-related information. All are encouraged and welcome to check the color level of Bernalillo County at any time by going to:
Eggs to Fill for Easter Egg Hunt
Please consider filing some plastic eggs with goodies for the Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, April 17.

There is no need to purchase eggs. We have plenty! Pick up a dozen in the narthex and fill them candy or other prizes. All food items must be individually wrapped by the manufacturer. Do not put loose jellybeans or other treats in the eggs. Stickers and trinkets are also fun for our youth to find in the eggs.

If you have any questions, please contact Deacon David via email.
Subscribe to Our YouTube Channel
We are excited to announce that soon all will have the option to attend virtual services on either Facebook Live (as we have been) or YouTube. We are working though the set up, but all may go ahead and subscribe to our YouTube channel so that you may get notified when we are live. You may subscribe by going here.
Asylum Seekers Need Sweats
The Albuquerque Asylum Seekers Welcome group, made up of faith and community organization members, has asked St. Mark’s to donate traveling clothes in April.

The sweatpants and shirts will be given to those asylum seekers who arrive here from the southern border on their way to sponsors throughout the country. So far this year three buses of about 50 people each have arrived here from Annunciation House in El Paso and other shelters. They are housed in a local motel for five days for Covid 19 testing and isolation before they travel on. They are fed and given travel clothes for the next leg of their journey. Buses are expected at a rate of about one every two weeks or so.

If you choose to donate, the biggest need is for men’s sizes small to medium and girls aged 4-18. A box is in the Narthex for your donations. New or nearly new clothes only, please.

Throughout February and March, St. Mark’s donated enough shoes to shod one whole bus of people with about a dozen pairs left over for the next group. Your generosity, as always, is inspiring.

If you have any questions about this donation drive or the group effort, email Mary Beth Libbey (email her here) or Kate Spielmann (email her here).

Asylum Seeker Family-Liaison Training
The news reports Ukrainians crossing at Tijuana seeking asylum; and 300 Afghans are newly settling here in our community. The good news is that YOU can help people navigate our culture. ABQ FaithWorks is ready to train Family Liaisons in the network of community migrant services, and to add volunteers to the supporting teams ready to assist with transportation, food, language, medical exams, household items and clothing. What does it take to help? An open heart and the time you can give it. Contact Elijah Martinez, Director of the Asylum Program at ABQ FaithWorks via email here. Check out www.abqfaithworks.org
Email submissions should be sent (via email) to the Communications Specialist by 11:00 a.m. each Tuesday for inclusion on Thursday's e-news. Please see submission guidelines here.
