The Messenger of St. Mark's | Eastertide | April 28, 2023

For your thought:

When he was abused, he did not return abuse; when he suffered, he did not threaten; but he entrusted himself to the one who judges justly. He himself bore our sins in his body on the cross, so that, free from sins, we might live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed. For you were going astray like sheep, but now you have returned to the shepherd and guardian of your souls.

--1 Peter 2:23-25

SAINT MARK'S MISSION & OUTREACH

5th Sunday of the Month: Pancake Breakfast!

It's the fifth Sunday of the month, so please join our St. Mark's community for a Pancake Breakfast following the worship service. Please feel free to bring a bowl of fresh fruit to add to the pancake breakfast smorgasbord!

This Sunday: Online Church Directory Updates

camera

After worship on Sunday, we'll be making an effort to update our online St. Mark's photo directory. If you already have access and don't know how to update your info, this will be your opportunity! We'll have staff on hand to help update your family's information, as well as photographers to take a photo of you and your family (keep that in mind for dressing on Sunday morning). There's a lot of empty photos next to member information in our directory and we're hoping to remedy that some this weekend. This is part of an ongoing effort to maintain our directory, as well as to help St. Mark's continue to be a thriving, relational congregation.

Please see a brief tutorial on updating your information here.

If you think you can try to update your information on your own (including uploading your own photo), you may access/edit your Member Directory information here.

THANK YOU!

Building Renewal Committee’s Weekly Report (4/28)

Consistently, giving rather than needing has been a hallmark at St. Mark’s. During the times of Covid throughout the separate liturgical seasons during the church year, we have been gifted what we need by our clergy, staff, and lay leaders. Sunday’s learning time with Robert Habiger was such a gift. Understanding how our spaces have been and can be designed opens our eyes ever wider to our vision of "building something beautiful." In that beauty, equivalent experience is at the core. As we know from the famous paintings of The Last Supper, everyone is at the table. We want everyone at the table.

After Pancake Sunday (this Sunday), Robert will return the following Sunday (May 7th). His graciousness in teaching us has been powerful in our understanding how best to renew our facilities through shared learning. As our Committee prepares both to interview architects and consider bids from organ builders, we strive to stay true to our principles in our practices.

Meeting this past week, the Building Renewal Committee reviewed its critical path to date and projected key events ahead. As always, input and awareness across our community fuels our giving what we need for the health and growth of St. Mark’s.

Save the Dates: All-Parish Campout

July 28-30th

The all-parish campout is returning after four years! We will camp at the Ponderosa Group Campground. The campground is 6 miles west of Bandelier National Monument near Los Alamos, NM. Click here to see the campground. This is a tent-only campground with a covered cooking shelter, pit toilets and drinking water. The plan is to gather there on Friday night, hike on Saturday (optional), enjoy a potluck meal on Saturday evening (bring your own main dish & a side to share) and Sunday morning Eucharist before we pack up and head back.

All ages are welcome! Come for both nights, one night, for the hike, and/or for Sunday Eucharist. If you have any questions, please contact the Sinkulars via email here.
